View Full Version : Motor builders Florian 04-08-09, 08:11 PM Okay fellas, you have the king of the hill cars, but do you have the cool motor builder tag on your engines that us STSv guys have? If so, where is it located and who was your builder?
First one to find and post a pic will get a prize from CadillacForums.com
F Cadillac Tony 04-08-09, 09:07 PM Sorry F, but the LSA isn't built by one person like the LC3 in the STS-V. anonfrank 04-08-09, 09:29 PM Hmm, I didn't know that about the STS-V.
The only tag on the new CTS-V engine that I see is the GM Performance Division tag at the front.

that surprises me with the low volume of blown 6.2L motors....you sure about that? They arent made in Wixom?
F RapidRob 04-08-09, 11:40 PM ^^^ Nope - I read somewhere that the blown v2 LSA's are built somewhere in Mexico. Not sure of the exact place in Mexico though ... ?
Rob Florian 04-09-09, 01:04 AM thats a drag.....
Ill just have to keep this prize hat then.
F proexpert 04-09-09, 10:03 AM Mexico for the LSA. LITTLEELVISDAN 04-09-09, 02:34 PM OH SNAP!!!! In the end it's still just a chevy motor? That's a damn shame.... Looks like we STS-V owners get to keep our tag line Most powerful CADILLAC ever produced.... :-) :-) anonfrank 04-09-09, 02:57 PM Built in MEXICO? Is that where Chevy engines (and apparently ours) are assembled nowadays? I had no idea, I assumed that they were built here. At least I helped keep the LGR assembly line workers on the job by purchasing a V...... Florian 04-09-09, 03:14 PM OH SNAP!!!! In the end it's still just a chevy motor? That's a damn shame.... trudat! Sux for the CTSv guys.
F Yeah, you can even buy an LSA marine crate motor.
I suppose a builder plate is nice, but think of it this way: 556HP isn't even special enough to justify it now. Yeah, you can even buy an LSA marine crate motor.

Here is the full spec .pdf on the marine engine if anyone is interested. I had no idea it existed until now...

Unfortunately, it's still the 2nd fastest... anonfrank 04-09-09, 05:19 PM From the site you quoted above, the CTS-V's engine is built in the Silao, Mexico plant that builds the marine engine and several Chevy truck models. Interesting to know. Here's the full specs from the GM site listed below.
