The 2011 Grand Cherokee debuted today at the NYIAS, this thing looks GREAT. I actually thought it was a whole new platform until I visited Milous' (JeepsUnlimited member) website to find out more about it (wkjeeps.com).

Apparently the WK platform has been entirely re-worked and updated. This is probably the BEST Chrysler interior I've yet seen since they started working on interior redesigns and it's nice enough I'd probably take one of these with the 5.7 or CRD motor over the new SRX EASILY. They finally managed to bring back the character of the ORIGINAL 1993-1998 GC.

I hate the new SRX. The previous gen was sweet, but I hate the looks of the new one.

It looks like your generic SUV. They're all starting to look alike. If you pull the badges off you can't tell one from another.

It looks better than the last one, but that's not saying much. I hate how the beltline slants up as it goes back.

Great interior though.

My best friend and I were so shocked by how this good this thing looks. He had a '98 GC and it was pretty nice. Never was a fan of the current model at all. Much prefer the '93-'04 bodystyles.

The front kinda looks like the first gen Murano.

You guys are crazy. I'm the biggest proponent of everything looking like a generic blob and I think this new GC has some really nice, chiseled features to it. The front looks SO much better than that bugeyed crap from the '05-'10 model. It's modern while also being muscular and having an element of luxury. Seeing as Jeep is probably the only piece of Chrysler that will actually survive, I think this is a good step forward.

Massively improved interior, from pictures at least.

Looks nice!!! I like the current model quite a bit, especially in SRT8 guise. The SRT8 looks mean as hell, and it has the balls to keep up with the new Camaro, Charger SRT8, and would smoke a Mustang GT.

Due to the natural laws of the convergence of ideas, as soon as the world government takes over there will only be one design of each item in production. There will be no need to waste resources competing. Everybody will live in the same manufactured living quarters and everything else in society will be standardized for maximum efficiency. Every bolt on everything will have the same size head so you'll only need one wrench to work on anything. Since everybody will be eating the same diet, every turd will be the same size and shape and assigned its place in the pipe leading to the nutrician recycling plant. What a great world we are creating for our children. We need more government control to ensure that it all happens in this vision. All Hail Obama!!

Other then the front facia I don't see that much difference from the current lackluster platform. And I hate, hate, HATE those staggered shift patterns on the auto trans vehicles. It makes shifting in and out of park a complete and unnecessary awkward PITA.

I like their 5.7 engine (despite the fact it's a gas hog), but have never been convinced of the reliability of their diffs and transmissions since owning my 99' JGC. I think if I were looking in the midsize SUV category I would be considering the Acadia (I really like the look of them). Or if I was after a V8 midsize I'd give the Trail Blazer SS a look.

Hey I love the looks of the SRT8 as much as the next guy. I just can't bring myself to get worse MPG than a hummer for a vehicle knowing that gas prices spike every summer.

Then again, my `08 Ridgeline RTL only gets 19 mpg on average... then again, it won't depreciate as fast as a Cherokee...then again, the vehicles aren't even in the same class so I should just stop talking.

Yup, just another SUV on the outside at least. I'm looking for a slightly used vehicle to tow a 9K lb sailboat. I'm looking mainly at reliability since they all look alike. It won't be a daily driver 'cause they are all hogs when you get into that bracket

5.7 or 7.4 Vortec powered K2500 Suburban or Silverado.

Ford Excursion with the diesel or V10 option. Make sure you get the reliable and unkillable 7.3 Powerstroke diesel, found in the earlier models(I think 2003 was the last year for the 7.3). Avoid the newer 6.0 Powerstroke at all costs, they have their issues.
