Has anyone bypassed the clutch pedal safety and installed remote start? I'd like to buy a manual transmission car but, living in Michigan, I'd also like to get into a warm car during the cold months.

I was thinking the same. Not sure why it is deleted by the factory. Could they not have connected to somthing like a neutral
safety switch with the parking brake set in order for the starter to initiate?

It is possible to wire an aftermarket remote start system to the V, but usually not performed by any installer. If you find one that will do it you are lucky, and I have never been confident tapping into my ignition system. The reason they never came with one is because people used to remote start a manual transmission with it in gear and go through the wall of their garage.

In summary....it is possible. Work on wiring a push button start instead.

By now you would think they would figure out how to use a position sensor to determine

1) car is in neutral
2) parking brake is engage

How hard could that be?

I can turn off the clutch activation switch in the software if you really need it done. It makes it so you can have a remote start.

If you flashed the bcm for a automatic, and the right key fob and a tune, and your remote start should work with a factory keyfob.

A well known C6/C5 tuner here in MI has done this to MANY MM6 'vettes.

When you get a car, PM me I'll give you his info.

George
