: Considering Buying 2005 STS, HELP!

I found a great looking Black on Black STS at a local dealership for a great price, its got 85k miles on it and they want 14,000 for it after we negotiated...

Does that sound right?

should 85k miles scare me, what concerns should i have or look for?

Does anyone make lowering springs for this car (V-6 version)

is it a good deal?

I test drove it and it rides a like a dream,... what should i be weary of in this situation.. are these cars good for 150k miles?

I would hope that the 2005 STS was good for 150k or more. My 05 STS has less than 10,000 and I'm looking for at lease 100k. I would check the top of windsheild fo delamation and check the headlight lens for peeling. For the mileage on the car, I would go between 10 and 12k.

14,000 for that car is absurd! DO NOT PAY THAT MUCH. Caddys are mileage sensitive. With 85K and a V-6, that car is not work 14 grand. He is raping you. I concur with tunerbend and I would only pay 10-12K for the car. One year from now, your car will have 100K miles on it and it's value will drop a lot. Caddys are very durable and should go 150K easily, but unfortunately they are EXTREMELY mileage sensitive. The value of them plummets when mileage goes up too fast...

For 15K, you should easily find a STS V-6 on Autotrader with less than 85K miles. I have seen 2005 V-6 STS models regularly on Autotrader with 35-45K miles sell for 16 grand all day long. 14 grand is waaaay to much for that car.

It was 3 days after buying the car from the GM dealer lol. It was a 2006 with 33,000 miles. Warranty should be covering it.

It's a bit hard to comment on the value when you don't mention anything about the features in the car.
