Just saw the movie tonight, and there is a stock BLack Raven Cts-v in one of the scenes. It's not racing but it's definitely a V2, that the supposed Baraga arrives in when their is supposed to be a trade off of the money for the product. JUST THOUGHT I'D LET EVERYONE KNOW. Other than that pretty cool movie, i just wished they would've shown Vin Diesel's escape at the end

It's a STS-V.

Honestly, I know the STS-V and new CTS-V look similar but they're not the same, people!!!

Even with low expectations, that was a shitty movie. Gawd...my brain actually hurts when I watch Paul Walker act.

Agree.

How many times did he say "brah" or "cuz" in this movie? In F&F2, he said them so many times I was almost violently ill from watching the movie. The only movie in the franchise I even came close to liking was F&F1, and they left so much on the cutting room floor on that one that they killed the plot. I am waiting for this one to go on DVD or Netflix download before I watch it.

OTOH, Paul Walker CAN drive.
Sorry, can't embed video, so here's the thread where the video is.

Im pretty sure it was a 09 V as well...the grill is pretty identifiable.

I'm 0.3% more sure that it's a CTS-V ;)

The bottom grille was not big enough to be a CTS-V, and the headlights didn't have the neon tubes that run up the side.

And if you want more close-up proof, look at the rear door when the old guy gets out. The CTS-V doesn't have metal around the window when the door is open; only the chrome trim. The car in the movie has metal around the window. It's a STS-V.

Look:
See the body color metal around the window is part of the door?

Now look at the CTS-V. There's no body color metal that's part of the door, only a chrome surround.

Well i cant go back and look at it again now, but actually the first thing i noticed was the neon tubes that run up the side of the headlights. I then noticed the size of the grill and that it was a 09v. So im not sure you've given me the proof i needed. I still believe it was an 09v. BUT AS MORE PEOPLE GO AND SEE THE MOVIE IM SURE WE WILL GET THE TRUE ANSWER AND IF NOT I GUESS WE'LL JUST HAVE TO WAIT FOR IT TO COME OUT ON DVD. BUT SOMEONE WILL GET A SNAPSHOT OF IT SOMEHOW AND THE TRUTH SHALL BE TOLDD.

Just to clear everything up, that's my car in the movie. I rented my 06 STS-V to Fast and the Furious last year. It was supposed to be in the scene at the shipping container yard. I wasn't sure it would make the movie but it looks like it did.
Thanks for finding it.

None of them are going to win any Oscars, but the movie was very entertaining (which I am pretty sure is the point). The movie actually made almost $75M this weekend, so it is my understanding that there will likely be a part five. Anyway, how bad could the movie be with a quote like "Muscle beats import every time" (or something like that).

My friend was in charge of finding cars for the movie and all the product placement. I took my car to the show and tell and got to see the F-bomb camaro (hot rod's twin turbo'd camaro, Big red (69 road race camaro), the 1st new evo in LA, and countless ugly japanese rocket ships. They called me a month later and used it for a weekend.
It sounds awesome but anyone that rents their car needs to know it will get it damaged. They ripped my center consule in three places pretty bad, curbed a rim, and it got a couple new scratches. They will normally pay to fix stuff but it's a real hassle fyi.

Sounds like someone was tearing around LA in your car after shooting the scene. That stinks.

I dont base my movie opinions on how many people go to see it.:) And with the amount of CGI is the first action sequence, I almost got up and left. An auto racing movie with fake racing? Brah, no way!

That's like saying an action movie sucks because people aren't actually getting shot and killed; it's only fake.

Different type of scene. Bullitt was a car chase.

The opening sequence that you were referring to was hardly a race or a car chase. Unless you're referring to something else other than the scene with the GN.

Bullitt had a good car chase but it wasn't thrilling to watch.

I rented one of my hoes to the Fast and Furious production, so that they could have her dance around in a skimpy outfit.

She came back a bit tattered and torn.

But she was thrilling to watch.

I didn't say the movie was good because a lot of people saw it, I was commenting that there would likely be another one (I read that if it did well a 5th installment was probable). This should be good news for you since you seem to be such a big fan. You can have even lower expectations, still be disappointed, and then come on here and give us your updated criticisms. Either way, I am sure Paul Walker thanks you for your $8.50.:2thumbs:

If theyre good, Ill buy them when they come out and watch them at home in my theatre room...without the chewing gum on my feet and the constantly ringing cell phones.
It's good to know you're willing to pay $8.50 to be so easily entertained tho...:)
