Hello All,
I've got a 92 RWD that has great working air conditioning until the compressor randomly shuts off. I can turn the car off and when I start it back up it will work fine again. I had the freon checked and it is fine. Could it be a Low Pressure Switch? Where is that located? Any help is appreciated!

The low pressure cut off switch is located at the top of the back of the AC compressor. It is in at an angle. To remove it, you have drain all of the freon (properly as mandated by federal law), and once service is complete, refill the system with R-12 refrigerant (which is illegal to buy in the United States).

The problem could also be the High Pressure Relief Valve, which is at the bottom of the back of the compressor and is mounted straight.

R12 isn't illegal to purchase if you are certified by the EPA.
