sup, hope this is the right discussion for this thread

i came across this OLD article from 1913 about coolant. its short. check it.

does that still apply today?

would running pure water through a northstar or any modern engine be a good idea?

negative.

unless of course you live in a area where the temperature never goes below 32. There's also a plethora of other reasons why you wouldn't want to, but I can't elaborate now.

well yeah, its obvious the author just meant for the summer time.

ive seen on the back of a dexcool bottle that you can run as much as 80 percent water and 20 percent antifreeze.

nothing cools better than water... and the alcohol corrodes like no other. i heard vehicles equipped to handle FlexFuel have to have less corrossive parts because of ethanols nasty tendencies. nothings perfect
