On these keyless entry system v2's, my guess is that it is for emergency access if the battery is dead, or something similar. But where or what is the key? I didn't receive one with the car, but did anyone else?

Just wondering ...

It's hidden inside the fob. Press down HARD on the rectangular tab at the bottom of the key fob face, then grasp and pull on the metal part of the key fob- it'll pull out, revealing the key.

Yep, just like the Owner's manual states.

Thanks for the assist Tony!

As for the other responders - just picked the car up Friday and hadn't got to that part of the manual yet. :p

Yep he should have - but as I mentioned in another thread, nobody, (including the saleman), at that particular dealer knew much about the v2. But they sure wanted my service business and a good write-up on GM's survey form. Not gonna happen - found a much better outfit for service, etc.

Yup. Rob dealt with the same clowns in Seattle (Doug's Cadillac) who were supposed to provide me with a guaranteed rock bottom price via my bank's buying service. After the initial contact they totally ignored me... Oh, did I mention it was DOUG'S CADILLAC in Seattle? :annoyed:

:D And Drummer - I found out during my warranty work @ Brotherton's, that they apparently lost their status as Costco auto dealer which is the only reason I ordered through them, and Brotherton is now the area Costco dealer. Apparently the word is out .... :yup:
