View Full Version : New Member Here - Seeking Mods / Wheels for -09 CTS-V Shankenfelter CTSV 04-02-09, 03:11 PM Soooooooo, whats the best way to lower these things..., and any threads out there with 20" wheels on these? I think 20" Chrome Mesh would look sick no?
Any tuning packages recommended or out yet?
Shank Richie18 04-02-09, 03:51 PM For tuning possibly look for Wait4Me tuning. For wheels, only option right now is a custom built set from some of the high end wheel manufacturers, CCW, HRE, 360 forged, to name a few.
For wheels you may find more info in the regular CTS section, i've seen 20" all around work fine, with the rear one being 10" wide with no issue. Dr. Design 04-02-09, 05:43 PM Hello Shank,
For starters, congrats on the new V!
We have quite a few wheel offerings for the 09 CTSV. We can provide you with OE size wheels, 20-22" wheels. We can get you set up with 10.5" rears on a 295 tire. Check out just a few of our wheel offerings.

As for lowering the vehicle. Some people have tried using the lowering springs. We are just about complete in offering a coilover system for this application.
Let us know if there are any questions.
Thank you,

Shank Richie18 04-02-09, 06:02 PM Dr. Design can you make any wheels with a lip? Shankenfelter CTSV 04-02-09, 07:12 PM Ritchie, Dr. Design thanks. What so, all those styles are ready to go for the 09 CTS V? What finishes? Lead time? Tires? How to lower? Dr. Design 04-02-09, 08:53 PM Sure can!
If you want a contoured face we would look at using a 2-piece forged wheel. It will offer a very large lip (i.e. 3-4 inch lip)
Check out our selections:

Dr. Design can you make any wheels with a lip? Dr. Design 04-02-09, 08:57 PM Please note that all the wheels you see in the images above are examples of wheel offerings for your CTS-V. Thats why you will notice there are some shown in a 6 lug pattern, etc... We can do just about ANY finish you would like. Lead time is about 3-4 weeks depending on what you choose. Full chrome wheels take about 1-2 weeks longer to build. We typically offer Toyo Tires in package form, but we can provide you with any major brand you require.
The vehicle can be lowered using lowering springs or coilovers. I think H&R are pretty close to releasing their new set for the 09V.
Thank you,

Ritchie, Dr. Design thanks. What so, all those styles are ready to go for the 09 CTS V? What finishes? Lead time? Tires? How to lower? Search the forums, quite a few people have put 20's on the V2 including myself. Shankenfelter CTSV 04-03-09, 12:41 PM Hmmm maybe I've been searching with the wrong string. I can't find much 20"ers on 09 CTS V's. Can you point me in the right direction?
Off topic, but his forum takes forever to load... the header loads for the first bunch of seconds before the forum starts.. :alchi: Richie18 04-03-09, 12:46 PM Only luck i had was searching the term "Wheel", and just browsing through all the threads, a search definitely is not immediately helpful. Someone should start a custom wheels thread. OldDrummer55 04-04-09, 12:13 PM Shank,

Thanks. I cut and pasted those last four from another post. Shank will figure out how to find them. thebigjimsho 04-05-09, 05:24 PM Dr. Design can you make any wheels with a lip?
You don't want a lip. Lips don't do anything... Richie18 04-05-09, 05:45 PM Dr. Design can you make any wheels with a lip?
Going to quote myself, i meant to say "with NO lip". I don't like lips very much on wheels. Some pull it off, but i think a no lip wheel looks much better.
Obviously he can make wheels with lips as that is what almost all of them are. :banghead: haterinc 04-05-09, 07:17 PM And broads with big boobs don't look good either... And I also hate the v2 lol thebigjimsho 04-06-09, 12:00 AM Going to quote myself, i meant to say "with NO lip". I don't like lips very much on wheels. if they're obviously fake? no... Dr. Design 04-07-09, 11:03 PM Yes, we are working with a new partner in bringing forth some pretty cool 1-piece offerings that start to go against the "big lip" trend....
Thanks,
