I did a search and found no posts about this.
This car attracts a LOT of attention even in silver and I'd like to make it a little harder for thieves. Any done an aftermarket alarm yet? Are GM alarms generally adequate?
I actually had someone pull up behind me on the freeway and I could see him taking pix with his cell phone. If you go to any VW sites and see an "I saw a V2" thread, it was that guy. Someone I didn't know pulled up in my driveway over the weekend while I was in the garage just to tell me how much he enjoyed my V. If ordinary people are geeked by the V2, thieves must be, too.
Thanks!

Just park the V in the garage and just unplug the garage door opener

LOL!
Then I'd have to move my S2000 into the driveway and risk getting the top cut and seats stolen. :D
I guess I'll have to convince the wife to leave her car in the driveway at night....no one wants her car....or it's time to move into a house with a three-bay garage.

That is what they make insurance for. ANY car can be stolen VERY easiely. No alarm can stop that. Smart thieves can get anything if they try hard enough....
I barely lock my doors anymore... If they want in, they will get in.
Also as car programming progresses, it makes it unfortunatly even easier for anyone to shut off any type of anti theft system. Especially for vehicles with keyless entry and Remote start. two wires connected inline and sending a few messages across the bus now can do some very bad things. You can roll down windows, turn on the ignition, start the car, basically anything you want now a days.. The more technical they make the car, the more there is to mess with.. :(

Completely agree. Alarms mostly keep out the joyriders. I don't have to worry about this too much as I live in a pretty good neighborhood, though crime does happen anywhere.... Pros will get the car even with the best alarm system, and that is indeed what I pay the insurance premium for.
i agree with wait if they want to take the car they will; now a days they break into the house to get the 2nd set of keys. now i do hoep gm has made the doors better. a guy a work with a h2 hummer gets his broken into constantly b/c the door locks are very easy to break into
Just park the V in the garage and just unplug the garage door opener
Ha great idea. I was thinking you could just leave the car parked outside but take the steering wheel in the house with you at night ;) but your idea might work also :D
