Dick's06Vee 03-31-09, 01:22 PM Check the Cadillac.com site first thing tomorrow morning. They usually have the new incentives posted in a timely manner. Superior Cadillac 03-31-09, 02:46 PM I have not heard of anything yet Tasos 03-31-09, 03:39 PM Scott, thank you and please keep us posted. OldDrummer55 03-31-09, 06:49 PM I haven't found any incentives for the V2 in quite some time. Mine will be delivered within the next two weeks so I'm hoping GM will loosen up the rules and throw we potential V2 owners a bone... Florian 04-01-09, 01:00 AM The Anoited One said he may drop sales tax on US autos to move some cars...we shall see...change indeed. F OldDrummer55 04-01-09, 11:59 AM Nothing new this AM. Cadillac Tony 04-01-09, 12:06 PM The current customer cash incentive and rate sheet (good through 4/30) shows no incentives on the CTS-V. Sales are brisk on the car, and average transaction prices are high. As long as this continues, there's no need for incentives to move the cars. This is good news for everyone's resale value. It looks like 2 year old CTS-Vs won't be selling at half price like the XLRs and STSs. Florian 04-01-09, 05:01 PM Id be thrilled if someone gave me half on my STSv F Razorecko 04-01-09, 06:49 PM Thats why its not a bad thing if the prices are high. Would you rather spend the extra 5k when you buy the car and have it still hold the value a year or two down or would you rather save the 5k upfront and have your car worth half in two years poor-sha 04-01-09, 07:58 PM The Anoited One said he may drop sales tax on US autos to move some cars...we shall see...change indeed. F Uh, as far as I know there is no Federal sales tax on cars - it's a state thing. But I guess the bit in the Constitution about all powers not expressly granted to the Federal government belong to the states disappeared a while ago. Sure, but if you can actually afford a V2 you can't deduct the sales tax because your earned income is too high. Gotta love the anointed one, again! Maybe I should just take vacation a few months a year and be complaisant . Maybe I should just take vacation a few months a year and be complaisant . Not for me:) I'm retired and on a fixed income.....really! Z06ified 04-02-09, 03:51 PM Sure, but if you can actually afford a V2 you can't deduct the sales tax because your earned income is too high. Gotta love the anointed one, again! Maybe I should just take vacation a few months a year and be complaisant . I think I'm going to do the same! Why work, when the government will take care of you if you do nothing at all? I'm thinking of defaulting on my mortgage and screaming for HELP!!! Then I can get refinanced at a lower rate than those with great credit like I have now. Then, I'll buy a bunch of stuff (big screen TV's, fancy dinners out, jet skis, nice watches, etc.) and max out my credit cards, then call one of those credit card negotiation companies that tell me it's not my fault if I can't pay my credit card bills, and they'll negotiate with the credit card companies for pennies on the dollar settlements. Next, buy a new car, then try to get laid off so GM can make my car payments for me for the next 2 years while I play golf and go to the beach, and I can write off my sales tax on the car for next year's tax return (along with a bunch of other tax benefits of not working), while I collect unemployment benefits, get a further reduction in my mortgage from the government, and even get fed for free. Can someone tell me what incentive there is to work hard under this Obamanation? chris1268 04-02-09, 05:42 PM I don't think there is an answer to that question.....Work hard but you can't get paid to much for it so don't work to hard. Give me a break, hasn't it been proven yet that socialism doesn't work!:banghead: poor-sha 04-02-09, 07:08 PM http://www.irs.gov/newsroom/article/0,,id=204519,00.html Poor-Sha..here's the IRS info on taking a federal tax deduction on your state sales tax paid on a new vehicle. Thanks. I guess I'd better not work too hard this year. "The deduction is limited to the tax on up to $49,500 of the purchase price of an eligible motor vehicle. The deduction is phased out for joint filers with modified adjusted gross income between $250,000 and $260,000 and other taxpayers with modified AGI between $125,000 and $135,000." Compare the V2 to any car 10 years ago. I never thought we 'd get a 4 door vette! Will the 2010 V be here, probably...will GM be around after they file in summer?????? Hell, after stopping for gas every other day for my old srt8 jeep, this caddy is a dream. x-srtjeep 04-03-09, 09:44 AM If The Anointed One truly wishes to stimulate us, why not refund our gas guzzler tax too?
