UPS just dropped off my CCW 505's with tires:) . Will have them installed tomorrow and post pics. These back tires are huge. I really think the car is going to look great with them.

what size did you get?
for some odd reasons, they stopped answering my question on their forum

19 x 10 rear, 19 x 8.5 front. The 275 35's on the back are a lot bigger than the factory. It will be in the morning before I can post pics, but the car looks very good with the new wheels. You guys are going to like the rear shot.

i want to get same size wheels as you but i'm afraid that rear might be too big. Is there plenty of room for your brakes?

I run 315 / 35 / 17's on my TA on ZR1 wheels.

You can't beat, big meat.:D

:coolgleam

Really looking forward to pics. New wheels and tires are always one of the best visual mods as far as I'm concerned.

I told her not to post them because you guys wouldn't be happy (picture quality). I'll have close ups in the morning before I leave for work. They really look good. I had a group of people at the gas station teeling me how nice the car looked:) .

Do you plan on lowering the car at all?

Nice! Are you expecting rubbing issues with passengers and/or lot's of luggage? Perhaps time will tell...

When I questioned GMPD about larger tire size, they said that their testing showed a larger tire wouldn't fit. The only tire they COULD have used would have been the next size up in EMT... which was 275/40. So was it a width or height issue?

Your speedo should be off about 5%... are you going to program the ECU? And you will also have a bit more pull in each gear with the smaller diameter tire/wheel. :)

ssmith100
07-09-04, 09:52 AM
Actually, I don't think the speedo will be off at all. Total diameter of the factory wheels and tire is 26.6" and the new wheels and tires are 26.6". Does feel like it pulls harder though:rolleyes: I will say this, the car rides a whole lot better than it did with the run flats. Even with the 35's in the back it is still very smooth.

OK... 245/45 should give you 26.68"... but 275/35 should give you 25.58" while 275/40 would have been near identical to the original. No?

(245*.45*2/25.4)+18=26.68
(275*.35*2/25.4)+18=25.58

:hmm:

His wheels are 19in IIRC, which means 26.58in if calculated (safer to rely on the mfr's specs, but this is close enough...)

DUH! :bonkers: :bonkers: :bonkers:

Reading is fundamental... I overlooked the 19" wheels. DUH.

Well, getting back to the issue... think there will be any rubbing with a full load on either the inside or outside?

ssmith100
07-09-04, 12:41 PM
No rubbing on the inside with a full load. The outside is a slight possibility, but the car would have to be really loaded down. I don't ever carry anybody so for me it won't be a problem. John from CCW just called me to ask about how close some of the measurements are and I'll be sending him some pics. We'll probably replace the rear wheels with a different cut version later. I have a semi prototype on the front now that will probably end up on the rear. Right now though they look great and I couldn't be happier.

Nivomats are load leveling shocks. They will be just fine with a load? I wonder if you can still throw some Eiback springs on there?

How do you like your S0-3's on those wheels ?

any updates on the production wheels?

Devil,

Basically you can order just about anything from them (CCW) you want. It will probably be a while before the actual exact fit for the rear is available, but it will be according to John, more like 9.5" rear. I like the way my wheels look and fit and couldn't be happier. I also wanted a 10" rear. The back wheels could probably go back inside the wheel well about 1/2" but it still looks good. I'll tell you this, I've had more people complement the car more now than ever before. To all you guys still running runflats, the car rides 50% better with a different tire.
