: Is a New England meet realistic??

So I know meets have been planned for this area in the past and have not actually ended up happening. I'm just wondering more currently how many people would be interested in a meet somewhere in New England (specific location depending on locations of people interested). I'm thinking maybe mid summer should give people enough time to plan ahead, but first let's see if there's any interest. So, if you're interested, say so, and where you're from. Thanks.

also, posting dates/days you'd be unavailable could help.

Hello King I would be interested. Colt State park in RI is nice and lots of parking there.. Sat or sunday in May or June before the really humid weather hits?? I am coming from Boston so not many people should complain about the ride. Its not that long of a ride, I visit my mother inlaw in Warren regularly. I hope this can work out

Colt State park is nice..I think right now location totally depends on how much response we get and where people are from. I'd love for it to really work out.

I am not sure how to interpret this but if you're asking if 09 v's are welcome the answer would actually be hell yeah.

Depending on the day I would be interested. I am in central Mass and I used to own a Chevy Avalanche and was part of an Avalanche club that used to do meets.

Yeah we'll definitely try to do this a day when everyone who's interested is available...I don't mind waiting till late summer. Also, the bigger a crowd we can gather by then, the more fun it should be and the more cars we'll have around to admire! Good to see some interest so far...hopefully we can get even more

The Avalanche club used to do a yearly trip to the White Mountains in NH in the fall, that was nice. We did one once to Newport R.I in the summer once too.

I'd love to make it a trip to somewhere that would be a great spot for pics of all the Caddys...somewhere open enough to fit all the cars and scenic too. Either of those places you mentioned could be possibilities, and anyone else is welcome to give more suggestions..

Are there any plans for a meet in NE this spring/summer???

I see that there is one in New Jersey tomorrow, but I didn't know about that til a couple of days ago. As well as I am in Ledyard, Ct which is on the boarder of Ct and RI.

I am very interested it setting up a meet here in NE, probably like the others have said. Some where in RI.

Why thank you, it all started back in 98 when I had WebTV. Yeah I know, no need to apply. Anyways, I made typos all the time because of the IR remote keyboard. Then once I made up the name, Kingoftypos, the typos some how disappeared. Now I just fall back on the name when I can't spell a word. :yup:

So how would we set up a meet here in NE? I would really like to share some ideas and receive some as well. I do my own installs just the way that I like them, no money. Just man hours, which I enjoy anyways.

I think to set up a meet we first need a little more response. We have about 5 potentially interested so far, which is ok for a start, but it would be better to get even more Cadillacs together. I think once we get some more response we should then see if we can settle on a day/place that works for everyone and go from there. I personally would love to see a variety of different Cadillacs all coming together.

I possible have one more caddy guy i work with that would be interested in the meet. I would suggest a Sunday around second week of June? Even if not many show we can post images of all that attended and it may catch on in the NorthEast????

I'm from CT, currently in NYC, would probably drive up for a meet if it is on a weekend. I used to live right on the CT/MA border like 45 minutes from Boston. RI is kind of remote I think MA or CT would be better, personally I'd prefer MA

Well theres 3 more people which is good. Mass is definitely a possibility...I think we need to see where everyone's from once we decide to go ahead with it. Possibly 8 people now is getting a little more reasonable. Hopefully we can get a few more!

I am in Leominster Mass. I would easily go to Mass, RI, Conn, NH, I would also consider NY. I dont know if you guys have done anything like this before but I have when I was a member of the Chevy Avalanche club and we did these things all the time so if anybody needs help setting things up just let me know.

Hey King think you need to do what the other member from Tri State area did. Throw up a poll with few dates so the Northeast Members can hopefully come together. So if you do it this way Northeast members can pick and choice on a common day.. Really hope this can come together

Alright guys I made a poll on this so hopefully we can narrow down a date. Be sure to click on all the dates youre available, and we'll go with the one that has the most. Also, feel free to make other suggestions..I didn't want to make a poll with a hundred dates on it.

I am very new to owning a Cadillac and would love to go. I have just picked up a 95 STS and am enjoy having a car with 300hp that is not powered by uncle ben and no longer have to worry about how humid it is outside (detonation is not fun)!
My Nissan Group I was with used to have summer meets and we would almost always have it at a local Nissan Dealer. Last meet I went to up in NH the dealership hooked us up with a BBQ grill to use, hats, 10% off parts coupons and a deal on oil change while we were there. As well as letting us pass around a new 350z for demo rides, which actually was sold the next day to a member who took it out. All we had to do was give the parts / service mgr 5 minutes to tell us all about how great their service and parts department was in return.
Just a thought.

I like the idea of hanging out a dealership, maybe we can get some caddy swag.

Legend..welcome to the forum. If you'd like..check out the thread that's a poll on the date of this meet, and select all the dates that would work for you. We hope to include as many people as possible by picking the best date!

I had never thought about having the meet at a dealership. I think if we were to do that, it would ideally be a dealership relatively close to somewhere scenic so we could take a little drive over and get some cool pics of the Caddies. What do you guys think? I'm not so sure, however, where that would be. But I'm getting ahead of myself right...first we need to decide on a date and see who's coming so we can then get a central location..

Voted!!

Just a few ideas here, I used to be on a Acura Forum. When they did thier annuall meet, they get everyone to mail $20 or more depending on where they are going to stay and food etc. I think usually it was $45 a person and $70 for family. The meet was at a hotel on Friday night, Saturday, Sunday, We had Friday night as a ice breaker, getting to know each other seeing the car, having a few snacks and sodas, Saturday was a whole day event from the complimentary breakfast at the hotel then to the Sessions on how to properly clean ur vehicle,Buffing, waxing, etc. If anyone had Questions on DIY's they can ask, Lunch, Photoshoot/Video time of all the cars parked in line and different positions, then we took all the cars for a drive, pix, videos, sticky pods, racing, burn outs, it was amazing, We were working on making a nice video of all the meets so we can post them up on youtube foreveryone on youtube to join for next years event. Dinner, then back at the hotel, just socializing, some went to drink, and others that dont drink, went for a cruise in thier cars again at night. Sunday morning, Farewell Breakfast, Exchanged numbers, contact info, etc, then headed home in groups. Whoever lived in the south left at 10 am all together on the highway etc. It was fun. We can do something alot smaller with no cost but two or 3 times a year. Just some ideas here. :) Looking forward to meet with everyone. Also if any help is needed to set this meet up. Il be more then happy to help out. :)

I'm also a new member and owner, about 10 mins into PA from the Trenton, NJ area. RI is a hike, but I do enjoy the Mystic, CT area. It would be easier to sell it to my wife, too, as opposed to an "all Caddies all the time" weekend. I am also a big fan of meeting at a dealer.

Unfortunately, I never know where I'm going to be working (US or otherwise), but the general rule is that I'm home weekends. I'd hate to play a part in pulling this closer to NYC only to be stuck in Europe and have to miss it, so I think Mystic is a little fairer to the NJ/PA "crowd".

This is my first day on the forum, so I'm trying to find the poll.

Legend..I actually love the idea of having something more extensive like that..but I'm going to agree like you said that we maybe keep it simple at least for the first one since we haven't done this yet..and then maybe from there talk about doing something bigger afterwards. Honestly I'd like to eventually make this a fairly regular thing if everyone else wanted to..maybe once every month or two months..or something like that. But for now I'm just looking forward to this first one.

EasternPA..welcome to the forum. I personally have no problem going to Mystic or another CT location. (Mystic is actually only about 10 mins from RI actually...I have some friends there so I'm down there periodically..not to mention the nearby casinos). We're planning to run a poll on the location after we determine the date, so stay tuned for that.

So far we have 7 people for Sunday August 2 which is the most as of now. Legend and Trickstr..you guys didn't click that one...is that date definitely a no-go for you guys or is it a possibility? I'd really like to be able to include as many people as possible, so let us know if 8/2 might be manageable. If not we'll see if other people can manage other dates and go from there.

I live right in richmond off of exit 3 and i will be down for a meet somewhere near mystic seeing as it is not far away from me. And i could definitely do it on 8/2 and i possibly may know another person that might want to show up. But definitely count me in!

Another thought of a spot for a meet, not sure if it is right for this group, is New England Dyno. http://www.nedyno.com/ is their site. For $65 a head (min of 10 people) they will feed the group BBQ as well as you would get 3-5 runs on the Dyno. Its In mass on the RI border.

Kingoftypos
06-03-09, 04:13 PM
Too much for me, since I only have a 2.8 size engine. Kinda pointless to do a dyno, especially since I'm nearly all stock expect for k&n drop in filter ha ha. But a good thought though.

Hey All,

I'm in Framingham,MA and up for a drive pretty much anywhere. Mystic sounds cool enough for a drive down.

August 2nd should be fine for me.
