I purchased a 2006 STS in December 08 with 10,500 miles on it. I now have 16,000 miles on the car and was wondering if anyone could offer advice on an extended warrenty:hmm:

I can tell you i have an 05 and over triple the mileage you do, get the warranty! Lots of little things will drive you off the wall and its nice to not have a bill at the dealership.

I assume you didn't purchase the car from a Cadillac dealer with a CPO warranty. A number of folks have purchased discounted GMPP warranties from Black Pontiac Cadillac online:

My recommendation to you is to get it certified. It is better than the GNPP. They treat you like a new car customer. It even covers the light bulbs and you get loaner cars with no questions asked. You should ask about doing that.

if it was not certified at the time of purchase ...purchased used i assume..it cannot be certified. gmpp has many plans and some dealers price better than others. if you are going aftermarket just make sure the dealer you use the most accepts that particular warranty. my service dept only takes gmpp, yours may be different
