i have just uploaded a bunch more allante pictures unfortuantely i uploaded some doubles and i will be deleting them hopefullyy later today but for now there are a pretty good amount of new pictures

Nice collection of Allante pictures. Were the proto shots from the Cad Museum? It was a shame the car got canceled when it did. The 94 was all set to go into production, it had a fresh interior, power top, more structure and a nice improvement in chassis tuning. A few of the last of the 93 cars were built with the improved structure and revised tuning. Catera V

Why did Cadillac stop Allante production in the first place?

most of these pics are from different allante groups across the country but some are mine the black allante that you see a bunch of pics of is my 1992

I think the allante was canceled because in 1992 GM lost $24.2 billion more than any other buiness in the world. they already had the 1993's set to go but to make the 1994's they would've needed 240 million dollars to "retool" the pininfarina factory. i think that cadillac made a mistake by canceling production althought it hadent been a model that made much money for gm over its six years. the 1994 model would've competed much better with the competiotion mostly because of the power hardtop. but i think that the XLR is a great car and after a few model years could defiently be the best of the high end roadsters.

Also although the allante lost money for cadillac in the end its styling would be used on many cadillacs to come.
