“Take the Long Way Home…”

Frame 1: Cue up the mournful, wailing harmonica beginning of Supertramp’s Take the Long Way Home (TLWH). Very busy office scene. Middle aged guy is answering telephones, giving direction to subordinates and looking very harried. TLWH continues to play throughout the commercial.

Frame 2: Guy looks at his watch, throws his sports jacket over his shoulder and walks out to the parking lot. Mini vans, station wagons and hybrids are parked everywhere. He scans the parking lot, a faint smile appears on his lips as if he spots an old friend, and the camera pans to a gleaming, black 2009 Cadillac CTS –V in a reserved spot. He enters and drives out into gridlock, LA style traffic.

Frame 3: He’s sitting in gridlock traffic, cell phone continuously going off, and he looks ahead seeing nothing but stalled cars. Guy then looks to the right at a side road leading out into the country, throws his cell phone out the window, smiles and turns onto the road.

Frame 4: Various angle outside scenes of the car driving on a Pacific Coast Highway type road, twisty turny, while a James Earl Jones voice describes the pleasure of having 556 hp surrounded by unsurpassed luxury. At this point Supertramp will be singing, “When your’re up on the stage it’s so unbelievable…” verse.

Frame 5: As the camera pans out (helicopter shot) revealing the car cruising along the highway with the Pacific Ocean in the background and James Earl Jones states, “The 2009 Cadillac CTS-Vvvvvv… Take the long way home…”

They should do something similar with an Escalade but show it driving down some Godforsaken trail covered in mud and fallen trees. That will show the soccer moms what their SUV was meant for. :)

Setting: Aircraft carrier

Helicopter shot approaches an aircraft carrier, zooms into see a jet ready to take off. CTS-V pulls up along side. Jet throttles up, CTS-V does too. Race. The jet takes off leaving the CTS-V still on the aircraft carrier.

Announcer: "The Cadillac CTS-V. Pushing the limits of Luxury Performance"

The CTS-V should brake at the last possible moment so that the car stops just shor of falling into the ocean. the braking should end jsut as the announcer stops speaking

Flash the Cadillac script and logo with shine on it.
