: LS7 Clutch kit - slave cylinder line / hose issue

So the dealer was installing my LS7 clutch kit yesterday and called to tell me that they accidentally kinked the copper supply line to the slave cylinder. I'm using the stock slave with the Katech spacer. I thought that by using a remote bleader from lapd that I wouldn't run into any plumbing issues (or have to notch the bell housing). However, apparently, the supply line must be bent slightly to be routed through the existing bell housing notches. Looks like it's easy to kink the line trying to bend it....

Anyway, I've contacted a local hydrolic shop that is supposed to be fabricating me a stainless steel flexable replacement line. If it works out, I'll post up the details and the shop information. If anyone else does this swap, and doesn't opt for the new slave cylendar, or just wants stainless lines, hopefully I'll have some helpful info for you soon.

Well, I just got a call from the hydaulic shop. The dealer wants to go back with a solid stainless line that's just slightly bent differently. I started to object, but the guy said he could have that done in an hour for $20 so....

How in the world do you kink an 8" line that only has to go back 1"? Thats amazing. I hate dealers and their incompetent mechanics.

that is why i told you to trim the bell housing. and btw that is what katech, who sells the spacer, gave me for instructions.
put a stock line back on it and trim the bell housing

Thats just it. You dont have trim anything! They are just stupid!

See, I thought you only had to trim the bell housing for the bleeder line. That's why I bought the remote bleeder. BTW, Katech didn't tell me squat. I had to tell them what size and length bolts were required to use the spacer!

See no notches, no kinks. I did this myself. Now you cant tell me a certified technician shouldn't be able to do this without putting a kink in the line? Seriously, how do you f*** that up?

You only need to bend the line slightly, it doesn't take much skill to bend a line without ruining it.
What they actually did more likely is they smashed the line between the trans and the bell housing when they put the trans in.

As much fun as it is to be lumped in with a large group of losers, not ALL dealership mechanics are incompetent.

Yes that is the C6 LAPD bleeder

Is that bleeder for the LS6 slave or the LS7 slave?

It fits both. I had the LAPD bleeder on the stock V slave and when I went to the LS7 slave, I just swapped it over. No mods or anything.
