You too eh. I got one yesterday.

I'm glad to hear you only received one yesterday. Traffic has been up and it's only a matter of time before we need a new server. Let's keep an eye on this and if we see it happen with any consistency, I'll go into pursuit mode. The only issue for me is - the next level up is pretty expensive..

I am however still seeing no shortage of those damned security token messages.

Unfortunately, they're probably going to be with us until our next major upgrade - which should be very soon..

Most of the time when I receive them, it's because I've had a topic on my screen for too long before replying to it. I don't know what the set amount of time is, but the longer a topic is on the screen, the less time you have before the "security token" expires.. It's a flaw somewhere in the system..

I saw this yesterday for about 5 minutes or so. I just became a supporting member again :)

Anything to help the forums out, I'm up for it!

You know Sal, if I could locate those vinyl decals we used to sell that have the website on them I would buy a couple. :)

Vinyl decals are available again. :)

I'm not sure we make anything when all is said and done (after shipping) - but it's mainly for marketing the site. The more people know about it, the more members we have and the more vendors (and supporters) we can potential get. In the long run, it should help!

Thank you!

I couldn't figure out how to install the decals I ordered. They crumbled into pieces and I had to throw them away. :(

Lookey what I got today. :)

It was a little tricky to install but using patience and the same techniques I use for window tint I got it on in about 10 minutes. I misted the window with some distilled water (after cleaning it of course) and applied the decal. I squeegeed out the water and slowly pulled off the plastic cover, using a pin to hold the delicate parts (such as the dot for the "i") in place. I got it off, did a final squeegee and dried it off. The defroster elements provided a great guide so it is nice and straight.

It rained only a little bit this morning so my car is very dirty but here is what it looks like. Once I get the Fleetwood out of the garage I will apply the other one on it.

I get very few token errors. But I have spent a good portion of today waiting for some openx.org server to respond before pages load. I know that isnt your server. But what data are you pulling from them?

Vinyl decals are available again. :).

I have them on both CTS. I don't know if you remember Sal, but I had expressed concerns about the durability when I first got them. I used to have maxima.org decals on my Max, and they were bigger than these, and would start to peel after a few months.

Well, I am happy to say, that the V is still wearing it's decal in perfect shape for almost 2 years now. Both the decals on the CTS are in perfect shape after a year, including a rather harse Chicago winter.

The window has to be extremely clean (use a detergent, and then rinse very well). You have to firmly press the decal STILL ON THE BACKING onto the window. Press and press and press. When you are done, press and press and press some more. Then, press some more.

To remove the backing, you can't just pull it off. You have to kind of fold the edge over, and "roll" it off, while still pushing down on it. I know that's a crappy explanation, I cannot quite put it to words.

JimmyH
03-26-09, 08:59 PM
auto update :nono:

it was probably sp1. you must finally have gotten all the right updates to meet eligibility for sp1 (which has been out for, oh, a year)

Probably. I usually click "no" when the updates pop up.

I wipe my hard drive every few months, and apply the updates after I install windows. Then I just leave it as is until my next purge.

It running pretty good for the most part Jimmy. Net waiting works, but not like I think it should. Come over anytime. I'm home all day today (Saturday) if you feel the need to escape. Just give me a call.

One of these Saturdays. Michelle and the kids were gone all day today, so I was not going to waste an empty house :D

The openx thing is a more or less constant irritation. It slows down page loads and internal redirects, and sometimes completely locks the browser. Depending on the time of day, the current temperature, and the phase of the moon it comes and goes. When I get tired of waiting, I just bail out and come back sometime later. Apparently it is an artifact of an advertising banner program, and has its own troubles. It seems to affect certain forums, threads, and even individual posts with no predictable sequence. My take is that antivirus/security programs spend a lot of time verifying that the embedded openx program is not a keystroke or datalogger or some such.

Well, the "openx" thing is back in force. Outta here for the evening and maybe tomorrow. PITA.

I have made it a habit to look through forums, open all the threads I am interested in new windows, and let them all load in the background while I am reading. Goes much faster this way.
