changing the radiator and some tranny fluid came out. Just wondering what kind it uses? is it bad to mix them? it's a 94 FWB

Not "F" type. submariner409 03-16-09, 12:11 PM GM used DEXRON-III and is now retrofilling all service units with DEXRON-VI, a new full-synthetic fluid that is 100% backwards compatible with -III. Make sure you understand the required fluid level check procedure for your transmission. There are differences. mjs182004 03-17-09, 04:08 PM good write up ^^^^, and it is not ok to mix tranny fluid with coolant. the coolant will destroy your transmission. it eats away at the clutch discs and sooner or later the tranny will start slipping. | |
