whatsup everyone im new to this fourm, seems like a pretty chill place to get some great information. a lil about me Im 17, gonna finally be 18 in about a month, and im the very, very proud owner of a 1990 Cadillac Brougham named Damballa. I bought this car in september of 2008 with 119K miles as my first car. im pretty sure you cant get much more for $1000. thats about $300 under bluebook value, but thats what i had to pay to get the odometer fixed so it could pass emissions. still cant complain. for a 20 year old car in connecticut, the list of problems is pleasantly short. espically in regards to rust.... theres not much to speak of. the only signifigant rust is under the trunk lid and a few tiny spots along the plastic rocker panels and under the doorhandles. the only thing thats failed in 3000 miles is the water pump, which is now repaired, and the Y-pipe gasket needed to be replaced just recently. nothing under the hood you wouldnt expect from an olds 307 with 122,000 miles. but i got bigger plans.... much bigger plans.... *evil grin* anyway enough of my babble heres some pictures.

Welcome and congratulations on the car. They are rare to have the body colored lower molding like yours does. Most of them are frosted like mine.

I know what you mean about getting a steal though. I got my '88 for $300 with a bad trans. I paid $1400 for a new trans and since then have had a few other normal wear issues but so far am still under $2300 for a car with only 68K miles on it.

nice color combo. Is the top blue or black? What color is the interior?

thanks for all the kind words. i definatly hear that i got a good deal all the time. she had a few real annoying problems when i first got it, ignition and vaccum mainly. its amazing what a lil basic maintence will cure. im sure you guys know what i mean when i say im playing catch-up with her, lil things here and there but nothing serious. cosmeticaly the paint on the right spacer is flaking badly, but im just happy both are still on the car!

to answer your questions the top is blue. but from neglect from the previous owner its got some teal spots. only two small tears tho. the whole thing is still there so im doing better than most cars in connecticut. the interior is blue also and the same condition as the rest of the car, cleans up well but a few flaws. can anyone tell me the real name of this shade of blue? heres one picture from a few months ago where you can kinda see the interior ill get some better ones soon.

nice color combo. Is the top blue or black? What color is the interior?

the interior and roof are blue, both in fairly good shape. a few flaws but nothing serious. heres a few pictures of both, and it was such a nice day today after school i wanted a few more pictures.

the headliner was sagging real bad so i pinned it back up. to me it looks a lot like the button topped seats in a brougham d'elegance so i dont mind it that much. but its all bunched up at the back which SUCKS.
the ONLY flaw on the roof
im thinking a lil white spray paint and careful masking will fix this
besides the inside of the trunk lid, this is the only real rust on the car. the driver door has a few tiny spots too.

Lazarus, if you're planning on touching up the paint, please use Cotillion White from a proper auto paint vendor. If you just try to use plain white, it will not look good. Despite its name, Cotillion White is not really true white. There's a lot of yellow and pink in it, and you'll definitely see the difference. As far as the interior, it's just called dark blue. Exteriors seem to get all the fancy names for some reason.
