: How do you replace these?

The emblems on my turn signal lenses are really bad looking; sand blasted. I found a replacement set, but don't know how the emblems come off. My repair manual only goes into removing the lens, and it looks like the entire bulb assembly comes with it. Is there any way of getting the emblem off the lens without breaking it?

Another thing, when you turn on the turn signal, is the bulb in the clear cornering lens supposed to blink, or turn on and stay on? And with the turn signal on, should the entire marker lamp lens be blinking, or just the inner most part? Most of the Cadillac (Fleetwood) Broughams I've seen have turn signals that work just like mine, but there were a few that the cornering lamp blinked in "wig-wag" with the marker lamp, and the entire marker was blinking.

I dont think those are supposed to come off. And the cornering light stays on but unsure about the marker.

Only the inside of the turn signal should light up and the cornering light should be solid, not flashing. The ones you have seen where the whole section flashes have probably been modded, which is not hard to do. The flashing cornering light is probably a short. However, on the '93-'96 Fleetwoods the whole signal flashes so you cannot compare your car with those.

^Thank you. That what I thought about the way the lights work, but was unsure. I always found it weird that you can't tell if the turn signal is on from the right or left side (unless you know what the cornering light being light up means).

There must be some way to remove them. I see auctions for them all the time on eBay; none of which are NOS.

Pretty ain't they.

I think your right about not being able to remove them. These were "Professionally Removed" and as you can see from the photo, their bent to hell. The only compensation is that all three studs are still attached.

I dunno about these but I've tried to remove the tail light ones in junkyards and I've shattered perfectly good lenses trying to do so. I've come to the conclusion that you can't without serious risk.......

I don't encourage trying, plus the crest isn't supposed to be colored in. They're a great looking custom job but they're not OE look if you care......

Perhaps the shield of the 80's emblems is not colored, but only due to a need for mass production. However the emblems they represent, 30's and 40's radiator, instrument cluster, and trunk badges, were always colored.

Besides, the paint will be gone in three days. It just looks good for my Cardomain page.

Well yes, I meant just on the 80's cars....
