Has anyone here ever modified their homelink to turn on lights rather than open a garage door. I have carport instead of a garage, but it would be real nice to be able to turn the carport lights on and off from my car.

If anyone has ever done this or knows someone who has please let me know. This would be awesome!!

what if you got a garage door opener with assessory outlets, didnt hook up a garage door rail and just ran lights off of the assessory outlets?

I am sure there is something out there that you could make do it. There are all sorts of things on the market now to turn on your house lights before you even open the front door so I am sure you can find something that will work with a standard garage door opener remote.
