: my 'cradle crushers!' spacers wheel hop fix

Taking notes from 'the hog' stacking washers on the cradle busings one step further...

I DID NOT CUT the cradle bushings at all; I wanted to leave the rubber there to take up the space and compact it together / pre-load it for a firmer mount. The only tricky part is eyeballing the bushing and making sure the crush sleeve makes it through the new washers.

..So anyways i drew up some washers instead of digging all over for them.

I used 3/16" aluminum sheet to cut mine on the laser. As with my 'nivomat lowering solution' (http://www.cadillacforums.com/forums/cadillac-cts-v-series-forum-2004/162651-my-nivomat-lowering-solution.html) my files are available via email dchildress@qubicaamf.us for anyone or company to use to beneifit the communtiy.

Vs. the prototypes I installed on the car, I would go ahead with 1/4" aluminum if it can be had. I think I will end up with 2 plates on top of the front, one on the bottom and 2 plates on the bottom, one on the top for the rear (out of 3/16) but I'm gonna ride on the way pictured for the time being to really test each way out good. No sense in roughing up the ride if it doesn't help.

This knocked my wheelhop down very significantly. I feel safe flooring it in 1st gear now which i kinda think is a big deal.

Big note that once I became familiar with the friggin post on the rear of the cradle I decided that it was ok to 'C' shape the upper washers. I will update the laser file with this. I figured since the factory bushing only touches on the sides anyway that the section of washer missing was no big deal. The rear with the C is the last picture. Time will tell on that but I was feeling lazy and the cradle wouldnt lower any more.

I put these on in quite literally a half hour with a good air impact and retq'd to 140#.

How much is "very significantly"? Like it doesn't feel like it's going to blow up? I thought that the people that were doing the washers got rid of it completely?

Not flaming by any means here.....just looking for best solution.

i have a pdf of the dimensions too just email the link above. not going to sell any myself, find a vendor on here etc. that is able to cut them for you guys and enjoy!

from what i read on the washer thread, the wheel hop was said to be gone completely once all the cushion was cut out and the cradle was mounted solidly with washers. i am not interested in this for my car.

i imagine there is some trade off between 'give' and wheel hop. the feel free to experiment.

like i said before it went from me not flooring the car in 1st gear in fear to now i can and am comfortable with it.

i dont think there are any gaurantees, specially not for free, hey my trans am wheel hops sometimes and it doesn't have a cradle at all to blame it on!
