: Easiest way to change the alt?

What is the easiest way to pull the alt? Is there anyway to get it from under the car or do you have to pull the PS to get at it? I'm need to start do this now:mad:

Quick copy and paste:
Removal:
Disconnect the battery negative cable.
Remove the air cleaner assembly.
Remove the radiator fan assembly.
Remove the accessory drive belt (3).
Remove the bolt securing the power steering pressure hose bracket to the generator.

Remove the rear generator mounting bolt (1).
Remove the front generator mounting bolts (2,3).
Lift the generator off of the mounting bracket in order to gain access to the connector and the generator output BAT terminal nut.
Disconnect the wire harness electrical connector from the generator.
Reposition the protective boot from the generator output battery terminal for access.
Remove the generator output battery terminal nut and disconnect the battery positive lead from the generator.
Remove the generator from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure
Position the generator near the installed position.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

Connect the battery positive lead to the generator and install the generator output battery terminal nut.
Tighten
Tighten the generator output battery terminal nut to 13 Nm (115 lb in).

Press the protective boot on to the generator output BAT terminal.
Connect the wiring harness connector to the generator.
Position the generator to the generator bracket on the engine.
Install the front generator mounting bolts (2,3), but do not tighten at this time.
Install the rear generator mounting bolt (1). Tighten the bolts in the following order.
Tighten
Tighten the front generator mounting bolt (3) to 50 Nm (37 lb ft).

Tighten
Tighten the front generator mounting bolt (2) to 50 Nm (37 lb ft).

Tighten
Tighten the rear generator mounting bolt (1) to 50 Nm (37 lb ft).

Install the bolt securing the power steering pressure hose bracket to the generator.
Tighten
Tighten the power steering pressure hose bracket nut to 9 Nm (80 lb in).

Install the accessory drive belt (3).
Install the radiator fan assembly.
Install the air cleaner assembly.
Connect the battery negative cable.

Guys,

I just had to have my alternator replaced a few weeks back. I talked to BIll at Lindsay who did the job. He followed the instructions above (more or less). He did tell me the next one he does, he is just going to remove the entire radiator, as it gives a bit more room to manuever, and it's easier than removing the fams from the radiator (instead you just remove the whole thing radiator/fans together).

Just passing this tidbit along.
