Seriously... that damn factory battery box is really the pits. Does anyone have a suggestion about a good looking and durable replacement that won't shred under water pressure?

I know a few posted here about the corvette batt covers, but I dont know how much mod'n you would have to do to them

If mine looked like that, I'd at least remove it. Uncovered battery can't look as bad as a cover that looks like it got gangbanged by moths.

If you still have runcraps.. put the battery in the spare tire well

Good point, removing it would be the best solution... my battery cover's most wild and intimate fantasy be damned. :-)

Like shady mentioned put it in the trunk. I've been running mine there since summer with problems.

What gauge wire did you run for the hot side? I just bought a red top optima to go in the trunk.

What would a man do without a strong community of absolute bastards to help him through a difficult V episode? :bouncer:

My Avatar has a FUPA (which I'm still laughing about) and my battery box has been raped by pleather-eating cockroaches.... it's definitely not my week on the boards. My V is DEFINITELY faster than most of yours. :stirpot:

Thermo-Tec has a battery wrap heat shield
SummitRacing: Thermo-Tec 13200 (http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=THE%2D13200&N=700+115&autoview=sku)
$25

You will have to modify it for the side terminals.

Thanks! That's a great solution for not a lot of cash. :)

Or just trash the stock one and be done

or how about not treating the box as though you're Hannibal Lecter...

I'm not sure what looks worse though. The colostomy bag battery cover or the bright yellow Wal-Mart special battery.
