what do you all think, changed trans fluid at 58k bad stuff in pan lots of sludge
now with new fluid and filter, it starting to slip, tried some slick 50 trans treatment a little better but still slips...
time for a new tranny
dont think it was ever changed by original (elderly owners) no records...
always insist when you buy a low mileage car.
looking at $1200 for GM remaufactured

that car probably sat for a while causing the seals to dry up and crack. That price seems a little high for a tranny. What kind of warranty does it have? Is that installed?

That's a pretty good price IMO. I had the 4l60e rebuilt in my 1999 Z28 for $1800 when you factor in taxes, etc.

Rebuilt 700R4s sell for $500-700. Figure about $300-400 for installation.

Please tell me where I can get a decent rebuilt 700r for $500- $700. All of the prices I have seen have been over $1k.

Click on that eBay link. My cousin used one of their 700r4s for his '92 Brougham and it was working perfectly until the car got stolen :nono:
