Looking good man. I can't wait for the installed pics. I think I am going the slotted and drilled route at my next brake job. (they just look too good)

BTW, which ones are those?

I got the Cliffhanger rotors sold by OCAutosports in California. Heard some great things about them from a forum buddy and online.

Here are some quick shots I took with my iPhone during the install. Yes I know the car is filthy. It snowed this week. It's all clean now.

you'll need to save a lot!

For somebody like me, who just uses the V for a weekend car and has no intention of tracking it...would 2 piece rotors really be of any value?

No. But on the bright side, once you buy a 2 piece, the replacement rotor surface is not much more expensive than stock rotors...

I must say Luke has some great prices for a 2 piece UUC rotor. The guy who sold me his QA1s has a contact with a brake supplier and even with his discount, the UUC rotors are cheaper, or as cheap...

I has been a couple of weeks. Did the OP get these installed? Do you have any impressions of these (cheaply priced) rotors for the forum?

Jon

I dunno if I'd want to track with those.

I dunno if I'd want to track with those.

I agree with you Jon, I just need to figure out how to change my rotors and pads a few times (get practiced at it) and then I would only use rotors like this for the street and switch back to blank stockers or UUC slotted-only for the roadcourse. I have never worked on brakes before, but I think I would get the hang of it pretty easily.

The reason I am asking the OP about how these things hold up is because for that cheap I would possibly be worried about warping them at high speed braking on the interstate - I have no illusions that these things would hold up on the track.

BTW - Jon, thanks for the R888 impressions, I was going to run these on the rears on the street, but now am on the search for some other 19" 295s that will work on the street (no PS2s - they are too expensive).

No problem, but be warned. R-compounds need to build up heat for grip. On a cool day you need to be careful. For regular driving it's no problem, but if you're going to go have some fun that's something to watch out for.

Well its been a few weeks now and only positive things to report. The rotors are just fine. I've had 2 near panic stops and many, many controlled stops from well over 120mph and I am still here to post about it. I am comfortable with these rotors and confident as well. Just because something is inexpensive, doesn't mean its cheap or poor quality. The rotors non-sale price is equal to many other similar priced rotors being talked about on this forum. I hope to be alive to give you long terms evaluations too.

I just ordered a set of these rotors yesterday. I hope my delivery and overall transaction goes as smooth as the OP's did. I think this price is pretty hard to beat, even if I only just use these as my "Car Show" rotors, they are still worth it. I am fairly certain that they are going to hold up on the street just fine as well.

I will post some pix once I get these babies put on, and by that time my car should have a pretty significant change in the cosmetic department.

BTW - tbjs - the fender vent decals are OFF! I figured that once I go to the all-black look, they would look really out of place. But if I had not decided to black everything out, I would have kept them, haha...:thepan:

I ordered the same set of rotors (fronts and rears) from this company and my transaction is starting to run south...quick. They sent the correct set of fronts by my rears are way off. I'm trying to get them to send me a return shipping label to send these huge rotors back and replace them with the correct ones.

I'll keep this thread updated if anything worse happens.
