Well as much as i love my V, i occasionally have the need for more storage for my job, so i've been looking into a second vehicle for a while. I wanted something that provided completely different utility than the V if there was anyway i could justify having 2 cars (not married, no kids).

I was looking a 4x4 Nissan Titans, but i just didnt need a truck so i moved to an suv. Long story short, tomorrow i will be picking up my 06 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited. I kept it overnight and i must say the quiet, comfortable, non-shifting traffic filled commute to work this morning was quite enjoyable. Last night i even took it to a construction site in the middle of Dallas and tried out the 4wheeldrive. Apparently it's full time 4wheel drive with the option to engage 4wheel low, it worked great! My girlfriend was all excited and said "V cant do that!" I looked at her and said "shut your mouth! there's nothing V cant do!" lol V will still be my favorite child, this one will just get the miles. It has everything the V has interior wise. Nav, heated seats, sunroof, etc....

This morning a much larger inifinity QX56 was parked next to it, and it was fun for me to think the jeep had the bigger engine. I dont need something massive and with the parking garage at home i really dont want anything too big. Also the 4x4 hemi version has a towing capacity of 7200lbs, so IF anything were to happen to the V, trailering wouldn't be a problem.

Today/tomorrow they are replacing a transmission mount and giving it one more look over (not at the dealer im buying it from, prefer an unbiased opinion!) Anyway im excited. It'll be cool to have 2 cars, one that hauls ass and one that has some decent off roading ability. Plan is no mods at all, but that plan rarely works out for me. I know the white is kinda girly looking, but i justify it being manly because of the engine

SRT-8 can only tow 3500lbs Plus I want something I can play in the dirt with. The V is more than enough for my street needs :)

Congrats! I know who to call now if my V breaks down. Lindsey's Jeep can only tow 3500lbs.

I like the white color...I dont think its girly at all. In fact if/when I get the V2 it will be in white.

Yea i like the White V too. I had a pearl white Lexus GS400 before the V and loved that color, couldnt see any of the scratches even after 130k miles! As far as towing, now i just need a trailer! jk i've rented one before for like $75ish? Yea i was all against the Cherokee because i thought it could only tow 3500 too. Was ready to bet the salesman on it, but thankfully didnt. I looked it up but must have been for the SRT-8 and V-6 cherokees. 3500lbs would be small boats or jetskis i guess?

Ya think i should stick with Chrome? Jeeps parts are freakin cheap compared to V parts! 4wheel parts 60% off some wheels!

Stucky 814V said they same thing. The V is enough for me on the road. I'd love to see an srt8 go through the construction site i was at last night!

Man the stocker chromes are selling on ebay anywhere from 180-280 each. Tires are almost brand new michelin LTX m/s. $194ea at tires.com, could prob get a good price selling the stock setup, hmmm

I'll prob stick with chrome, wonder how the bronze would look. Also i dont plan on getting anything too crazy as far as tires. No lift kits, and its for hwy driving so nothing too agressive on tread. Dont want some crazy hardcore offroad wheels and some chick tires!

Congrats, I like the 5.7 for towing...and as much as I love the black V, having 2 black vehicles is a bit of beating.

You still have the V? (jk) I forgot what you said earlier...are you going to be able to make it out to the dyno day in April?

Your Denali may put down more hp then your V. :stirpot:

I like it, I like it....a well deserved shot.
Yep, I'm still alive and still own the V. Working on the April dyno day (if it's not full yet already). New gig at work has me traveling more than originally planned...that's what happens when you cannot hire anyone for help in this economy, but that's a whole different issue.
Factory warranty runs out this month, bought the GMPP in Dec (not sure if what happens if GM decides to go bankrupt). Had my 2nd NAV system put in 2 weeks ago to fix all the flaking buttons, good as new (again).
The HP on the Denali would be close, the thing can tow almost anything.
On another topic, my boss is getting the 335 coupe w/ the Dinan chip, he ordered it and it gets here in April...that thing scares me. He claims 378 hp & 400 tq with the chip. I'm thinking that thing is going to be awfully quick.

There is always room for you April 4th. Even if we have more than expected not everyone has to run on the dyno. It will also be a social event.

Those 335i coups scare me. Its 50/50 when racing them. Unless they have more than just a chip. Then its bad news.

Check out streetjeeps.net theres a bunch of guys over there that mod the hell out of their WKs. You made the right choice not going with the SRT, I can't imagine mine going through any construction site that I wouldn't drive my V through... You could also mount up the SRT replica wheels from factory reproductions on your rig... they are on ebay, I bought a set in black for the winter.

Ok guys sorry to post this here, but until i find a cool jeep forum.....

Used the same camera mount i use in the V. It held up quite well. I mean the whole truck is shaking but the dash stays level with the camera. Also, no cool exhaust sound (yet) so i just muted the audio.

All you "shoulda got an SRT-8" guys, i'd love to see one of those handle this place :)
