Thought you were trying to sell your car. I see you removed the 18" Astra XR wheels. Not a big fan of the roof diffusers, but I want to see more photos of the "V" logos on both front doors. I was scoping those out on eBay and since you have them, I want to see pictures of both sides please.

I hope the V police pull you over and beat you.

How embarrasing.

:hmm: Funny thing you say that... I actually do hang out with a couple V-ee fans with various models and they all think the car is cool and unique in its own way even thou it doesnt have the power to back it up.... (:sneaky:195rwhp on a 200hp factory is something to think about)

So now :helpless: what are you suggesting, I go tear those off because you dont like them... :nono:

Well if someone offers me good money for it I would still sell it but I realized how much I love it so for now its a keeper...
:shhh: The 18s are coming back in a month or so, got them packed away for the winter and the Winter tires are in my basement for polished lip treatment so these wheels were for sale but I had to pull them off the shelf and get them mounted on the car for a week or so untill the other projects get finalized....

On another note I got the HID MADNESS fever and I :hmm: i've gone crazy but oh well...

By the time I am done I will have a total of 5 HID kits on my car nicely tucked away....

Dual projector fogs tucked in the OEM Factory Housings... HID Highs and HID 55w lows...

The Opel grill is nice, but it probably further confuses those who see the V-badging.

I like the Opel Grill and headlights- a lot.

Wanna-V badges and roof diffusers.......not so much.

From personal experiance I find that there are a lot of people out there that have no clue as to what half the stuff on my car is... the Vee badges dont throw any red flags with 99.9% of the drivers, the only ones that notice them are people who are slightly more aware of the cadillac family tree... and thats about it... all the others stop, stare, and move on... LOL...

And yes I do agree that its a bit too confusing but even I dont know what to do with them... I love the Opel front but then I like the little Vees on the fenders as they look so darn nice... but I dont really want to go the catera grille and Vee emblems... i guess I could take them off!... :(

As for those roof diffusers well I was trying to see if those will improve the MPG a bit but so far cant notice much... switching my Right LEAD foot to a light weight Alum one seems to do the trick... LOL...

Do what you do man. I think it looks very clean and classy. Not a fan of the roof difusers but what ever. It still looks great and is one clean surviving catera. Drive the sh** out of it!

Thanks man I think I am one of the luckiest few to report a problem free car...

I bought it at 60K, and it currently has 117K on the clock and its still ticking as good as it did when it was new...
I have only replaced a few little things here and there and done basic maintenance on it and its holding up real good so far.
:worship: Best $8000 I have ever spent on a car...

My other car 2001 Dodge Neon has given me way more problems then my Catera... and I am a hardcore fan of the car and will back it up with all I got!... so if you hear anyone bashing on any catera send them my way...

So the car should wear them because they look good ? The :v: badge, like the M for BMW and AMG for Mercedes represents a certain level of automobile built by their respective manufacturer in order to represent their performance vehicles. To badge a car that is not that vehicle not only discredits the vehicle it's put on, it discredits the line and it's name. It's not about looks, it's about demonstrating, in Cadillac's case, their ability to design and build a serious performance car to compete with the others out there. If living a lie and bringing discredit to the line of car you drive is something you don't give a second thought about doing, then go ahead and do it. There are certainly those out there that do. But don't fool yourself into some excuse about looks, it's just another lie you tell to impress others and the ones that really know are anything but impressed.

Well you just get one of those good old cheap ass HID kits... then you get a wiring harness from atuozone or some place that has them... then you need a Relay and a Relay plug with wires... (radioshack or autozone) and then you tap into the harness with the relay... power up from the battery through the relay to the HID kit which is in your headlights... then the on/off switch is simply your DRL or High beams... simple as that... no additional mods to the car!.. .

Hope this helps...

On one hand, it's his car and he can do what he likes.

On the other, the V badge states that the car came from GM's (sadly now defunct) Performance Division. It doesn't matter what you do to the car, it's a mis-statement of what it is to wear those badges. They're the equivalent of a signature from the GM Performance Division. It's like putting ///M badges on a 325. Even if the 325 is modded to somehow be capable of outperforming the ///M, it still did not come from BMW's Motorsport Division.

I can understand the Opel badging, because to be honest, that is what the car is and GM itself commited the crime of claiming it was something it wasn't.

Again, it's your car. Do what appeals to you personally, just be warned that people are most likely going to judge you on the decision you make. Sure, you may also not care what others think (which is admirable too), but I suspect that isn't the case if you are rebadging your car.

Well although they look quite nice on there, Opel badging will soon take over, its jsut so hard to find any good opel stuff over here and no one overseas wants to ship stuff here so...

I always saw the Catera Sport as the special child... kind of like the CTS-V etc... it was more unique then the original Catera and thats why I even dared to throw those on the car... I know its no Vee but calling it a SPORT seems so cheezy to me!...

But Love the coments and the conversation this topic sparked...

I was starting to think that this forum is dead and there are select few even looking at it but this certianly shows otherwise... !

Thanks guys for the support!
