I do not throw belts, however it seems like I only get a 4-5K miles out of the kind Vengeance put on during my install. Here's what happens:
The belt wears(meaning looks old), loosens the tensioner (maybe because I am stretching the belt), strips the belt, and then I replace it. Can you help??

What kind do you have, how many miles are each of you getting on your's and how often do you run boost?

Try a "Gatorback" belt.

Not sure what happened to my first one, but it frayed and weedwhipped the hood liner a bit. Gatorback is the way to go, however.

I believe it was heavy who suggested packin' an extra belt in the trunk along with a 15 mm wrench ... you know, just in case. I do it, and so far there's been no issue.

You are looking at the length, not the price.

Your 2.6 might have something to do with your problem.
I only have about 3K miles on gatorback, but the belt still looks new. Throw the old one in the trunk, in case something happens.

Gatorback

I got for like $30 at a local auto part store. He said it was listed for use in a Saab or something.

Duh, heavy already posted the right one...

How does the 2.8 feel compared to the 2.6?

Really? I figures you'd feel the 2.6 pull better down low.

How did you get it on and off. I'm sure an impact gun can get the nut off, but I'd be affraid to use it to get the nut back on. I just don't know how you would hold back on the shaft.
