Hey

Just got my CTS V today, I think I had a tear in my eye when I first saw it.

Which gears can you do no lift shift, dealer did not know it and cant find it in the manual.

Thanks

I would think it'd be any gear.

Get a little open road and try it. Every gear. Then report back, please!

You can do it in any gear.

It is basically because they are using a soft rev limit so it just sits at the rev limit until you let out the clutch and it will then lunge forward...

I got to test drive one Sunday. Talk about a dream. I was happy just to sit in the thing - the dealer said lets take it for a spin! Twist my arm.
After the drive he said he'd take GMS since i qualified, the price was good too 57k, but all it had was the polished wheels and Thunder gray paint, no ultraview or recaros, they had 3 like this. Fortunately, they can order one for me AND honor GMS!

zeevee, congratulations to you and your new machine purchase. I will be there soon and i cant friggin wait!

First day driving it, I could not wait to get up and go to work.
I wasted too much time looking at BMW and Porsche , I could have been driving the beast much sooner.

I will wait to break it in before I try the no lift shift. I am just getting used to all that power.

You should have it built now.. As long as your dealer has allocation..

Thanks Scott! I did manage to find out that my build date was 2/16/09, so, I should be hearing something fairly soon ... but, in your other post offering to look up order status for people, I asked if you could get an update for me, just to make sure I know what's going on. It's been a very loooonng wait .. :(

That's what I want on mine! It would be awesome if you could put up a bunch of pictures of your car.

Is no-lift shifting really that useful on a car this fast? A full throttle shift into second is just going to shred tires.

For 3-4/4-5 shifts, it should provide a shorter break in acceleration.
