LacSeville 07-04-04, 01:15 AM new ecm...or carb it! don't think they trannys are compatible. kitsapcountychoppers 07-04-04, 03:54 PM but are the mounts the same ?? illumina 07-05-04, 12:57 AM but are the mounts the same ?? is the limo one of the small body front drivers? if so, i dont think the mounts will even be close. if it is not the front driver, you may be a little more lucky, but i would still say no for the chevy engine and 4100 having the same mounts. good luck on the project though bro. kitsapcountychoppers 07-05-04, 01:01 AM its the big fleetwood rwd i know they put the 5.7 diesels in them ,so i was figuring the 350 would bolt in , illumina 07-05-04, 11:16 PM its the big fleetwood rwd i know they put the 5.7 diesels in them ,so i was figuring the 350 would bolt in , ok, that was a 5.7 liter olds diesel, not real sure if those mounts will fit or not, but i would bet they are close. ill have to ask a friend of mine who may know more, so when i do, ill post the answer for ya. DaveSmed 07-06-04, 12:29 AM I think the mounts for the 4100 are way different, but you can unbolt them and bolt on the diesel mounts. The problem is finding them, as I hear they are hard to come by. luddyludwick 07-07-04, 12:54 PM The bolt patterns from engine to transmission are different on a Chevy 350 than on V-8's from the other GM division. Therefore, it would be much easier if you found an Olds 307, 350, 403 or a Cadillac 368 (which was the standard motor in 1980, then converted to V-8-6-4 in 1981) Bruce caddy4yaass 07-07-04, 08:49 PM man go with the 350 it will take some work [mounts and shit] dont put the ecm just put the carb.after you finish you will be glad cause the parts are easyer to find for the 350 and cheper.and it will run WAY better. :worship: 350 or you can go and buy the same pice of crap 4100 and still be goin slow as hell Shoehorn 07-11-04, 02:09 PM I'd skip the 350. Get a 368,425,472,500. Any of them will kick a 350's ass in torque unless you plan on buying a $4000+ crate 350, or doing lots of upgrades, and they will bolt to your trans. The 350 requires adapters, and will be a general pain in the ass. Almost any RWD buick olds pontiac from the same era will bolt to you trans. | |
