Dial-up beware

FYI the front rims are 20x9 with 255x35x20 tires and back rims are 20x10 with 285x30x20 tires. I went with Yoko S.drive tires.

It took me awhile to decide on what to get. I didn't want an all black wheel because there is a lot of chrome on the car. I wanted to compliment the chrome on the V2. I also wanted a unique wheel that not a lot of people had.

Overall I am extremely happy with the rims. D3 was great to work with and Discount Tire really took care of me. BTW I have a connection on the tire pressure sensors ($44 each) for those of you in the DFW area.

First off It looks amazing!!

but

I personally would have went with a 35 series and 40 in back unless you plan on lowering it :cool2:

are you having any clearance issues is the tire size setting off any lights in the car. It does look nice better then the 19's

Not gonna lower it. I wanted to keep it close to the overall stock height.

It is very close to the stock rim/tire height so I hope not. I haven't noticed anything yet but I have only put 10 miles on them. I have never heard of that happening is it common?

^ There was the thread about the guy that had "surge" problems when his tire height difference was enough to fool the traction control algorithm--so it's probably a good thing you didn't go with 40's in the back; might've canceled the optical illusion that the rears are shorter but could've caused you problems.

Nice compliment to your color scheme--good choice!. About the only thing I would do is black out the fastener heads around the rim--never was a fan of that on a street car...just me...

Interesting never heard that before. Rear is always taller to factor in weight in the truck and acceleration.

Appreciate it. I actually like the chrome fasteners.

Ummmm... if you do the math to calculate the diameter of the stock tires, and the tires you have now, the rears are actually a fraction shorter than the fronts...

But with the tires you have, it keeps the tire heights and ratio (F/R) same as stock.

The ratio is just that. It's a percentage. A 225/50 is the same sidewall height as a 445/25...

On those rims, I like them on their own. But split spokes with multiple colors are hard to look at. It's a bit too busy to me. Either solid spokes or a 1 color wheel would be better, IMO...

Great look!!!!! I almost got those same exact wheels. In fact I live in the city where Forgeline manufactures the wheels and they actually took measurements of my V2 just in case they started getting calls to produce wheels for the V2. I tried to work out a deal with Forgeline, but the deal was not to my liking so now I have some wheels on order from another manufacture. Once again your ride looks great.

You know man to be honest I'm never much for aftermarket wheels. But I have to say those look really good on your car  Congrats.

That is what I was shooting for.

The stock backs are smaller than the fronts as well but having a wider tire closes the gap a little bit.

I think Dave from Hennessy went with the same sizes but his car is dropped.

 Did you realize that we went up to 20" wheels, not the stock 19". 255/35 20 is the same as 255/40 19. 285/30 20 is as close as you can get to the stock rear size of 285/35 19.

I went with the 20" Sevas R5s black face w/chrome lip. They are to ship to me tomorrow or Tuesday and once I get 'em on I'll post some pics.

Hey Guys...

When is the next V meetup?

April 4th... http://www.cadillacforums.com/forums/cadillac-cts-v-series-forum-2004/161387-texas-dyno-day-update.html

We are going to Fox & Hound right afterwords to have a few beers and talk it up. I'm sure EVERYONE will want to see your V...so if you come be ready for a barrage of complements and questions.

By the way, I like the new wheels!

No but Forgeline sent me the wrong size. Luckily Discount Tire had some that fit my car.

I was just saying the sidewall would be bigger if it was my car or i would lower it

Sweet. Blends in well with the V but at the same time stands out enough to make your car different from the others.

Thanks that is exactly what I was looking for. I will take some more pictures this weekend and get the front grill in the shot.

I just got back into town this weekend and didn't have much time.
