Hi, I just put this set of tires on my '06 STS (V6).

235/50ZR-17 Michelin Pilot Sport A/S
255/45ZR-17 Michelin Pilot Sport A/S

The installer told me that they were bigger than the ones I already had on there and are typically associated with the V8 w/ sport package. He told me there would be no adverse side effects having these on there but I just wanted to double check with you all and make sure.

Those are stock tire sizes (if you have the larger/wider wheels on the back). I have just myself changed my tires to the Pilot Sport A/S; I don't have a lot of miles on them yet, but so far, I like them alot. I also have an '06 STS V6, RWD.

I have a V6 with the performance package and it has 235/50-18 front and 255/45-18 rear tires as standard equipment, so the same size in a 17" dia. should not be any problem. I would advise that you do a test to determine if you have any noticable speedometer error, which you probably do.

Shouldn't have any speedometer problems. It is a wash when you compare the 235 at 50 aspect ratio and the 255 with the 45 aspect ratio; tire diameter is almost identical. I believe Michelin lists them at 26.3 and 26.1 inches diameter respectively.

Google: tire size calculator. It will give you speedometer error, diameter, circumference, width, etc.

Those are the correct sizes for the vehicle, you have no worries :)
