1. Driver of SUV hits guy. Immediately stops to call 911.
2. Cops arrive, body is missing. Van driver ran over body and dragged it away underneath.
3. Van driver pulls over to see why van is acting funny, doesn't notice body, drives onward.

This happened right by my house about 2 years ago. On a dark, foggy morning a driver heading down I-355 hit a pedestrian walking down the center of the highway. The driver did not notice and dragged the body nearly 5 miles before another driver flagged them to the side of the road. They closed a huge section of 63rd street during the morning rush hour to investigate what had happened.

"The event currently isn't being seen as a criminal case because the driver was unaware he had a body lodged under his van." :pwn:

I saw a drunk Indian woman stagger in front of a jacked-up International pickup and get run over on an extremely icy road. She was stuck underneath and dragged along as the guy driving the pickup tried to stop. About 100 feet or more down the road the guy got stopped, the drunken Indian crawled out from under the pickup, got up, and continued on her way staggering down the street.

What a tragedy and a terrible way to die, being dragged to death. Lord knows how long he survived before finally giving in to his injuries. God Bless,Joe

In a way it's funny but in fact it's a real tragedy of a misspent and wasted life. She probably never fully realized what had happened. 20% of the population of Alaska is made up of indigenous people and they have a disparate representation in the prison, justice, and rehab systems. If anything the situation is regressing. The more money that's spent and the more opportunities offered the worse it gets. If you want to see the end result of decades of enabling behavior just come to Alaska and hang out around the liquor stores and Indian bars. The only thing even more depressing is their suicide rate.
