Just courious if there is any interest for a lockpick for these vehicles? I am trying to buy a 2005 SRX and if I do get one I will surely make a lockpick for myself. Just wondering if others would be interested in a device as well?

We would need a minimum of 20-30 people interested in order to make the time and investment make sense to actually think of producing a plug and play kit. We have done this for the STS and we ended up producing over 100 units for the members in the STS forum.

I am still looking for a 2005 SRX and when I buy one I will have a vehicle to start testing on.

No need in my '04. I have a "code" for 1) DVD movie watching, and 2) trip routing on the fly. '05's and younger do need a Lockpick, though, and those 04's that have had their NAV's replaced.

sgilbert will you PM me the code for the 04? I can't find it and I would love to unlock my Nav.

Wraunch, If you do a search, you will find the DVD code and the route-in-motion hack. I won't post on a public forum, if you can't find them, but PM me and I'll email them to you.

I put in my request as well. I have an '05 SRX with Nav, and have been hoping a lockpic solution would be available soon....

Did you ever ID this for the '05 SRX? The fix for the Nav unlock seems to be intermittent, at best, in my 05. :bigroll:

I'm a bit embarrassed to ask, but a lockpick is for NAV only, correct ?

The lockpick you guys are referring to, will it work for my DTS? Because, I'm having some major issues finding anything that is compatable. It's the Denso unit.

Newbie with my first post.

I just bought a 2005 Cadillac SRX in Europe. [Of course, the owner's manuals, etc. are all in Italian!] Hate to resurrect an old thread, but I have spent many hours researching lockpicks for the 2005 SRX nav system. My wife is getting tired of me surfing the web! Looks like nobody is making a lockpick for this model anymore. Or did I miss something? I would be tempted to replace the whole unit with an aftermarket nav system, but I'd lose all the integrated warnings, data, etc. Unless anyone has other ideas?

If yours is a 2005 with factory navigation you may be SOL since there are no interfaces available that will let you swap the nav/radio unit for an aftermarket one without losing car status information displayed on the stock unit.

The pre-07 models without nav can be modified, though, by sacrificing the CD changer.

I have just purchased an '08 (picking it up today, actually) and quickly discovered GM isn't offering any European map updates for the navigation system, which essentially renders it useless to me as I believe the most recent maps are 2009. Mind boggling.

Fortunately there is an interface available for 07-09 models from PAC. I got one for $113 off eBay and I will install a Clarion NX302E head unit. Unfortunately I have to keep the Bose amp and speakers in order to keep costs at bay.

Let us know how it works out for you.

Thanks! That's about what I thought. It looks like it could be done, but that there hasn't been enough interest to warrant someone building the devices. I'd hate to lose the other functionality by replacing with an aftermarket unit. I think I could live with the older maps...when was the last time someone built a new road in Italy?! :) But not being able to access the nav system on the fly is a pain.

Hoping someone who knows how to build these devices could survey users on this forum to see if there are enough interested owners now. I don't hold out much hope though. :(

I wish they had lockpick that worked on our 2009's! :(
