I am looking for some people that switched over to synthetic trans fluid and wondering what their results were after the switch. Any noticeable improvements in shift quality?

From what I know, the 4T60E does not have a drain plug on the torque converter. Therefore, if I switch, I will end up mising the regular fluid that's in it with the synthetic I add. Has there been any problems reported with this?

I really would not like to pay the price of having the car put on an exchanger to get all of the old stuff out...

Please let me know about past experiences/knowledge any of you may have on teh topic!

Beginning last year GM service departments began switching to the newer synthetic DEXRON-VI. It is 100% backwards-compatible with the old -III. I had the change done in '08 and (this is butt-dyno, no proof) the car seems to shift a tad quicker and tighter.

You can do a simple drain and fill now and do it again this summer and that will accomplish 90% of what a dealer job would do.

Make very sure you read up on the proper fill/check sequence for your transmission - they're all different nowadays.......
