I'm thinking of doing a serious stereo overhaul on my '68 Coupe. I don't want to have to have a custom console made to store a modern head unit. I'd rather keep the original look to the interior but want some serious sound, too. I figure one of the Custom Autosound "USA" units would be my best bet. But before I buy one of the units made to fit in the original stereo's spot I wanted to query this group and see if anyone has any input regarding their sound quality. My end goal would be a complete modern system with new dash speakers, speakers mounted into the lower carpeted portion of the door, new rear-shelf speakers, a sub box in the trunk, and dynomat where necessary. Everything would be amped but the dash speakers. Would I be wasting my money using the Custom Autosound unit, or would it be of sufficient quality for this application? Of course, if you know of any other options, please say so. Thanks!
