A few questions for those in 'the know': How can I diagnose the 'Service soon' and also the 'Service engine' light?

Here's a pic of my steering column before my crackhead mechanic replaced the housing. It took him all of 5 hours to put it back together. When all was said and done, he neglected to re-attach the hi-beam switch(connected to the turn signal lever), turn signal cancel cam doesnt work anymore, steering wheel is mis-aligned, and the horn doesn't work either. Anyone out there with experience on GM tilt/telescopic steering columns?

I just replaced my steering wheel on my 75 with telescopic feature. I was quite surprised to find that it really wasn't that big-a-deal. Once i broke it loose with a steering wheel puller (borowed from O'riely's Auto parts for free) the wheel just popped right off the shaft. The only thing that was telescopic was the shaft itself. There was a locking hub that simply screwed off and then the nut that held the steering wheel on.

Now as far as you turn signal cancel cam, and your high beam switch i can't say, but i suspect it won't be that hard once the wheel is off. Good luck
