I hope this can be done,

I am trying to remove the stainless molding that runs along the drip rail from the rear fender all the way up and over then back down to where the door meets the hood and front fender.

In the service manual it says its just clipped on as a pressure clip, but i cant for the life of me get this thing off.

I am trying to get it off in reusable condition so it can be powder-coated when the car is painted.

any help would be appreciated

Thank you in advance

You can get molding removal tools at the parts stores or body shop supply places. However, I have read that you can use an oldschool bottle opener (wrap it with masking tape and use the curved end):

Sorry the pic is so big, it is all I could find...

I have a set of molding tools, and for the life of me cant seem to get them to come off...

here is what the body service manual says

I have to take the one that runs down the A pillar off first but there is no getting under it because of the body molding that holds the weather stripping in. I cant seem to find out how that comes off...

and no worries on the size of the picture. it is actually tiny when your running 2560x1600 screen resolution ;)
