Msilva954 06-30-04, 03:22 PM Damn...that sucks.....do you not know what happened??? Is this your old rebuilt or a completely new engine?? LacSeville 06-30-04, 03:26 PM no idea what happened... new motor... caddydaddy 06-30-04, 03:40 PM Well if it's new, is it under warranty? Most rebuilt and new engines come with some sort of warranty! I'm sure a major internal coolant leak is covered! LacSeville 06-30-04, 03:43 PM bought from gm surplus store... they auctioned some surplus reman units on ebay...no warranty if bought through ebay. i bought through ebay. slk230mb 06-30-04, 03:52 PM When you filled up the radiator did you use the coolant supplement. LacSeville 06-30-04, 04:01 PM for sure... two tubes bars gold seal powder Msilva954 06-30-04, 04:23 PM Man no warrenty??? But were you told you were buying a in working order or good product. Because if you were told it was in new or like new order and they sent you a destroyed engine you have the legal right to sue them. And im pretty sure ebay backs you up to a certain percentage too. All I can say is check all you fluid lines and if that isnt the case follow through legally. Joe Sixpack 06-30-04, 11:08 PM It could be your radiator if your caddy has oil cooler lines hooked up to it. LacSeville 06-30-04, 11:49 PM the radiator that's in that car has about 10k miles on it. i bought a new one when i first got the car. illumina 07-01-04, 01:10 AM hate to say it, but if water went into the oil, then the company who re-built the motor may not have torqued the heads and associated water passage areas correctly, therefore causing a head gasket sealing problem or whatnot. i would first do a compression test on the motor, that way you will be able to tell if it is a head gasket leak or not. if that checks ok, then look into the radiator, maybe there is a leak in the oil-cooler core. hopefully everything will be okay. good luck bro, illuminaP. | |
