hello there, i recently got my 04 2WD Escalade in March 04. now at 3200 mil, i get some brakes squeking. But the squeking only occurs about the first 2 or 3 stops after i turn on my car. the First stop being the worst squek, the 2nd being a little less. After that, you don't hear the squeking anymore. So i don't think i need a brake change yet. I have a cousin with an escalade at 18000 mil, and hasn't changed his brakes ever. So whats the deal?
I don't really stop too hard. Sometimes i drive like stole the car, but i have never really jammed the brakes. This only started happening in the past 2 weeks. Any of you fellow escalade owners have any experience with this? i guess i could take it into the dealer.

I ALSO GOT MINE IN MARCH AND HAVE THE SAME MILEAGE YOU DO. DO YOU HAVE STOCK RIMS/TIRES? I DEFINITELY TAKE IT TO THE DEALER TO BE CHECKED.:hmm:
When I bought mine (about a month ago), they told me that these brakes never squek because they are organic (carbon).
The brake pads are ceramic, it is hard to get them to squeek, I would take it back to the dealer, you may have a glazed pad or a bad finish on one of the rotors.

i'd definitely take it to the dealer. it's under warranty and their responsibility to fix it.

yea im still on stock rims and tires. the squeking is making me think otherwise on getting rims. hopefully i can get it fixed.

Does anyone know if Brake Changes are covered in the 4-year warranty?

This may sound sheepish, but could their just be moisture on the brakes? I have seen cars, where until the brakes heat up they will squeak a little bit, at least early in the morning.

that could be the case, seeing how it squeeks when i take out in the morning. hasn't really squeked these past few hot days.

I just took my 2000 Escalade back to the dealer. I'm at 30,000 miles. I purchased it 2 month's ago. I took it to my usual suspension guys I use for my other vehicles. They said the rotors needed to be resurfaced. They said to take it back to Caddy dealer. So Caddy dealer supposely resurfaced rotors, replaced pads and cleaned calipers. Well guess what I'm still having some squeaking not like before though. It mostly occurs when I come from the beach or when it is a wet morning. So I still may take it back to my suspension guys for a recheck. I know some brakes just inherently squeak but it is irritating  hopefully Caddy dealer didn't try to pull one over on me. Because this issue should have been taken care of before the truck left the lot
Peace :)
