I was replacing the rotor, modulator, and distributor cap on our 1991 Cadillac Deville 4.9L and my marking method to keep the wires straight failed me.
So... I need some assistance figuring out the best way to make sure I have the right plug wire on the right post on the distributor cap. The cap is labeled, however, I'm not sure how the motor cyclinders are numbered.
Thank you
Jerry

facing your motor...
on the front, front left to right it will number 1,3,5,7
on the back, front left to right, 2,4,6,8
if you want to double check yourself, there are numbers on the intake manifold, if you clean all that crap off to see them!

look in your owners manual it should tell you the firing order as well for your car.

now i'm thinking its right to left 1357... i dunno
so just look on your intake manifold. the front is the odd and the back is the even.

LacSeville is correct.
1,3,5,7 in the front and 2,4.6.8 at the rear.
