Hey heres my big Q of the day. In our town here there is this old fart that drives an old (I'm not sure what model) Cadillac. All I know is that it's green, has four doors and is the biggest car I have ever seen. Anyways...he is always telling everyone how fast it is and blah blah blah . It has the old 500ci engine in it. I havn't had the chance to race him yet. My money says that my Seville with a 4.9 V-8 walks by his car easy. So is all that 500ci stuff a bunch of BS or what? Are they really that fast?

The 1970 Eldo had a 500 c.i. engine with 400 b.h.p. If ordered with the trailer towing package, you got lower gears, like 3.40's or 3.50's. This combo would go middle 14's in a 5200 lb. car! Other years and combos were not as fast.;)

I heard Car and Driver in 1970 did high 15s with this car (not sure on towing package). Apparently the car was dyno'ed at the wheels with 326hp and 400tq. 30 years later I don't think car will be preforming quite as hot :D

Wow, those are some nice HP numbers. I'm gonna see if I can get the guy to race next time I see him :bouncy:. Or is that a race I'd loose?

If it's not a '70 the horsepower will be less, as the years went by power dropped off dramatically, even if you account for the change to net ratings.
