I am aware of that.

I seized the chance to pay homage to an awesome rap song...literally. You might not get it if you're over 30.

I miss my cadillac, it is in storage. It is minus 8 with windchill and I am longing for better weather & to see my cadillac at the moment.

"Move B!tch,get out the way....

I would have to agree, if one's IQ is over 30 they probably aren't going to "get it" about some rap song. :stirpot:

Thankfully, so far, i've managed to escape the "rap" era unscathed. I have never heard a rap song from start to finish. I've always managed to hit the volume control or mute in the nick of time.

you may think you have but you didnt ....

past 10+ years all the rap hip hip , r&b is all pirated off songs done from 1975-1995 ....

Lately they are stealing beats from everyone , even supertramp , and of all things boy george ...

really , how hard core of a "rapper" are you when your beat was orginally done by a guy named boy george who was known for being unable to tell the womens and mens section apart in k mart ?

before long 50 cent will cover harry chapin's taxi

Wait'll they find out that the melodies from 1975-1995 were stolen from Brahms, Bach, and Beethoven.
The beat was stolen from aborigines beating on a log.

Yep, it's called "Sequel". I guess it's pretty hard to find, but I've got it somehow. The two of them together tell quite the story. :)

Another Chapin song I like is "A Better Place To Be", and "Sniper" is good too.

he ran out of song beats to steal and instead stole the beat and sound of his turn signal being stuck on

this thread was straight at first... cuz my cadi spillz oil like the Exxon Valdez, str8 cash hommay. Now these old folk be messin up my thread talkin' bout jackin beats & what not going way off topic. SMH (shake my head):Offtopic:
This had nothing to do with puff daddy wtf? Puff Daddy was the original beat jacker tho. He started the beat jacking trend. The FCC or whatever only covers the beats for 15 years, and after a song is 15 years old the rappers can copy the beats which is very, very unoriginal.

But seriously... some rap/hip-hop is damn good but you probably won't be finding it on the radio. Expand your horizons my fellow comrades!

back on topic... I miss my cadillac and the oil drips in my driveway. Summer is only 4 or 5 months away!

Not only do I not listen to rap and hip-hop, I have never in my life listened to rap and hip-hop. Also, I don't even know anybody who has. Real music has a tune you can hum, whistle or sing. There really are musical instruments that make sounds other than wham, boom, bang, and thud that you don't need pneumatic or hydraulic power sources to operate. I am partial to the steam calliope which provides much higher class entertainment than any rapper.

Well i guess it's not for everyone! :duck:

But as the old addage goes, don't knock it til you tried it. But rap in general sucks these days...no originality, same old themes.

that's not true for ALL rap. and just because a rapper uses someone else's beat does not mean they condone, or even like, what that person does. it means they like that particular beat. obviously if these rappers are finding obscure, strange beats from strange people; they've expanded their musical horizons much farther than those who say they ONLY listen to "real music".
