That looks like every other "executive" car being introduced today. Even if "tasteful" like the sevilles of the recent past and the 1976-79 a Cadillac should present a unique expression. Whatever, elegance the Buick "Limited" rendition had has been lost with this rendition of a Deville Executive. Needs more unique style and "je ne c'est quois" that the great Cad design had. It would take a lot more the this car's design for me spring for a new Cadillac!

Too rounded -- it's deviating from the next gen arts and science, just when it's really starting to look good. Just make a lengthened DTS look like a BIG CTS (or even the 2008+ STS). The taillights remind me of that old Hyundai XGwhatever it was.

Cadillac already has the prototype for this car:

Make some slight changes to the bumpers for crash standards, a few tweaks to the front grill and add real door handles - voila! - S-Class killer.

Jesus that's ugly (the concept, not the Sixteen)! The front and rear look like that new Lincoln (MKS?), and the c-pillar looks like it's right off the Kia Amanti.

FAIL!

Yep! Now that looks like a Cadillac should ....... tweak it a bit and build the car with quality materials and assembly; it would be a winner and I'd be the first in line!

LOL at top gear, said P. Diddley or P. Duddley or whatever the hell he calls himself this week

As for the first concept, looks like something Kia would dream up by ripping off other design cues.

I like the overall look but I do not like the front or the back. The window needs to meet with the trunk in a sharp edge, not the big swoop and the tail lights look like crap wrapping over the top of the trunk like that. The front is also too round but at the same time has too large of a point at the center of the grille.

I was thinking the same as Chad... looks just like the MKS. I guess this designer hasn't seen the taillights Cadillac has been using lately, which are elegant, almost art like forms that also extend to the headlights as well. The rear roofline doesn't remind me of any Cadillac of late. Take the CTS, stretch it out, add some unique design cues and you have the new executive sedan.

You mean......like an STS????? :p

If Cadillac ever made a 12/10ths scale 1998-04 Seville and made it REAR WHEEL DRIVE, it would have made a hell of a good looking S Class/ 7 Series/ A8 competitor in it's day.

Haha well kinda, but not nearly as slab sided and boring as the STS is. How can you go from Seville to the current STS? Yikes. I'm all for the reincarnation of the Seville, though it wouldn't fit very well with Cadillac's current "Art and Science" theme.

'Cause maybe it looks like the Jaguar! And the Lexus, and the Hyandai, and the .... ad finitum! My point of amny postiungs, they all look alike. We need some new input in the automotive design field.

That may be true, but the rear end looks kinda like a Bentley! Is this a bad thing?

Nobody said this was a final design. Obviously, some people like it and some people do not. Instead of simply criticizing the picture, why not make suggestions or actual edits.

Drawings like this NEVER make it to final production. Too bad.

It simply does not follow Cadillac's current A&S theme at all. No angular lines, no large, oversized grille (at least from what I can tell), no bulging fenders. The vent on the side doesn't look very Cadillac-esque, and the rear-end design looks awkward. The Buick design looks much more like a Buick. I cannot see this car fitting in with Cadillac right now.

Tony Show and I agree, go to the Sixteen for inspiration, probably best for a Seville replacement rather than a Deville. I think it would be best to drop the Deville name. The professionals in my son's generation (30 somethings) really identify that name with "old geezermobile" and wouldn't be caught dead in one. Cadillac is on the right track with the CTS, just made a misstep with the STS (which is the car that really needs a replacement). Call the new car the "Saint Moritz" keep the sixteens profile and clean styling ques put a V-8 and price it in the $70,000 to $100,000. range then sit back and watch Cadillac regain more of its' lost prestige.

How about the SLS? The one that is only made in, of all places, China. I would love to have one of these.

^Thats friggin perfect. Stick in there a new version of the Northstar or even a small block and you have a winner. I don't know why GM didn't stick that interior in the '08 revision. It's so much nicer than the current STS.

Yea that SLS qualifies for "all that and a bag of chips!"

The SLS interior is top rate - but it can't replace a full-size vehicle. Making it longer is nice but it also needs to be wider...

dirt_cheap_fleetwood

I think it is plenty wide. Heck, the center console is wider than the one in my mom's Blazer and the one in my Rodeo.

You captured my thoughts exactly, Chad. Looks like a poofed-up Catera.
