I have a 05 sts that came with the 6 disc cd changer. I want to replace that with the factory navigation. I have heard both good and bad things about this install. I hear its not a direct plug and play. Has anyone ever made this conversion? Any info would be helpful

I did it. Mine had factory cd navigation and the nav disc was under the rear deck and a hidden am fm tuner which everyone said especially that one can't be done. Works great, dvd nav, plays dvd movies , had external input for iPod/ iPhone music or movies had 6 disc changer in dash and I even have satellite radio . Oh and I also put in a digital onstar the one that said if you have 2002 or older it's analog and your beat put that in works with the dvd radio number pad comes up hands free calls onstar and 911. Haven't activated the account yet still doing mods.

Your Deville is a very different car than an STS. Also, this thread is 5 years old.
