To me sounds kinda like a TCS fuse blew or something..... zonie77 06-27-04, 03:30 PM You probably have a broken solenoid in the transmission. There is a kit available from Caddy with new solenoids. Search the threads for more info. jjbuckley 06-28-04, 11:33 AM Pull your codes like Elwesso said and see what is there, if you have a PO94 or PO29 you have a shift solenoid problem, also it should light up your Service engine light when it happens. Also when you turn the car off and then restart the service engine light should go out until the PCM commands a shift, theat the solenoid can not do, then it will set the code or codes and light the service engine light. These year trans are know for having weak base mounts on the shift solenoids, what happens is the base of one of them will crack and you go into the limp home mode of being stuck in second gear. This is a job you can do if that is your problem. John kcnewell 06-28-04, 01:49 PM Yeah. Most likely a transmission shift solenoid. Accessed by removing the bottom pan of the transmission. Remove the lower valve body to change the solenoids and install the retrofit kit with the braced support. hosss1 06-28-04, 09:04 PM the codes are p052,p109,i052,s038,t072,t073. i found the solenoids at the caddy dealer for $63 but i just want a little more ideas before i purchase them.thanks to evevryone | |
