Calling all parts guys.

My opera lamps don't work and even worse I need a passenger side opera lamp.

If anyone has an opera lamp for the passenger side FWB 85 RWD I will gladdly pay you resonably. Any tips on bulb sizes and getting them working again is greatly appreciated.

Thank you for reading.

Merry Christmas

Joe

well these lights dont have regular bulbs, its called electro luminescent light. more like a strip of plastic that lights up. they do not make them anymore.

your choices are to find a pair used that work, but they probably wont last too long.

or....replace the whole unit with aftermarket opera lamps (like from limos or other cadillacs)

or....replace it with some led's

It will be very hard to find replacement opera lamps. I spent a good 6 months looking for the ones for my Fleetwood and I finally came across a guy who had some in a box in his garage. He worked at a roofing specialist that did a lot of sim-con tops back in the 80's and he pulled these off a car, put them in a box and left them to sit for 20 years.

Like gdorell said they are actually made of electroluminescent paper that is very prone do degrading with time and UV light exposure. As an attempt to preserve mine I spray them with some Armor All about once a week. I have seen a few people on here replace them with aftermarket ones which look nice but they will not be as slim as the factory ones. They will stick out a little bit further from the side of the car. The other option, as stated above, is to replace them with LEDs. This may prove to be a little more difficult and you have to remember to remove the inverter from the truck. The factory lights run on 110V AC current. The cool thing about LEDs is you can change the color if you wanted. Personally I think that blue opera lights on my car would look bad ass but I like the stock look just as much.

As a note to all other members, I am still looking for an inverter to replace the one that burnt out in my car. If you have an extra one laying around please let me know and I will gladly purchase it from you.
