Mostly trim options inside and stuff like the rear window...the Fleetwood Brougham had a limousine "formal" style rear window, the DeVille's was more conventional. Also the Fleetwood Brougham had the wreath-and-crest hood ornament, the DeVille has just the crest. As far as I know, the engines and dimensions of the two cars were identical.

Here are some pages from the 1983 brochure, maybe that will help.

Also be aware that the "Fleetwood" name went on the small crappy FWD bodystyle for 1985 to 1992. All the larger RWD body style cars were called "Fleetwood Brougham" for 85-86. From 87-92 they were just called "Brougham"

From 93 to 96 the large RWD body was called "Fleetwood" again, with the optional Brougham package.

Right, but he was talking 1983 when they look fairly similar before the FWD changeover after '85.

I know, but he's probably looking for any 80-89 car. It was frustrating for me when I was looking because sometimes people would list a Brougham under Fleetwood, or I'd have to call them and ask if it was the FWD or RWD model.

Parts places sometimes do that, too. SO annoying.

My car is just as luxurious as yours thank you very much. :)

Plus I can parallel park mine in Downtown Chicago.
